Need help picking a mixing board/home recording setup

Ok, so I recently switched out my old PC which was full and old and bought a new one. I have been recording for years with a Yamaha 16/4 mixer, into M-Audio Delta 66 breakout box, into Cakewalk. Being very, very lazy about mastering new technology, I'm just not sure which way to go. Should I remove the M-Audio breakout box from my old computer and have it installed in my new one, or should I replace my old mixer with a new one and just respect USB I/O? I'll admit I'm leaning toward a new USB equipped powered mixer but could use some opinions. This is all just for home audio/home recording.

A Mackie Onyx, Roland Quad Capture, Avid M-Box, Focusrite Saffire, Motu 4Pre, and there are a million... It all depends how many tracks you NEED to record at once... There are a lot of options now... Do you see yourself recording a full band or just track by track??? I just got a Tascam 4 channel usb interface off CL unopened for $30 and it's working great...

I'll record the whole band mostly, sometimes I would do a stereo pair on the drums, mic the guitar cab, mic or DI the bass, or for simplicity just put the condenser mics in the room to record just a 2 track live. I misspoke, the Yamaha is the 12/4, not 16/4, and I really do like it. Basically I would input no more than 6 tracks at a time and usually fewer.

Get an 8 channel Firewire and be done with it... There are nice and not so nice and really freakin nice so browse the Sweetwater site and pick one you can afford...
