The only good thing about chorus is there's usually an off button.
I hear chorus ...

My favourite is the Sea Machine, though I've never tried a Cosmichorus and they look pretty boss.

the best chorus I have owned or tried is the one on my fender princeton chorus 2x10
I have owned a bunch and never found one that blew me away enough to keep it
Currently if I want a chorus sound I use the modulation on my subdecay echobox

Get an older Roland JC-120, for about $350 you get a great chorus and and amp that loves pedals. Otherwise I'm not big on chorus as an effect, I lived through the 80's and everyone in just about every genre slathered their sound in chorus. Not good... not good.

Iron Ether Polytope hands down especially if you play bass, which i think the OP does (the filter section is so handy for keeping a little clarity on the more extreme settings). It can do traditional chorus sounds and a whole lot more, it's technically a 1-4 voice pitch shifter/detuner but there are chorus sounds in it. There aren't a whole lot of videos that showcase the more subtle side of the polytope but it's there. I've owned the Boss Bass chorus and the TC Electronics Stereo Chorus Flanger, and prefer it to either. Can get some very synthy tones after fuzz, if that's your cup o' tea, plus it's so purdy.

Used to think I hated chorus... turns out I kinda love it.

My favorites are the Sea Machine, Arion Stereo Chorus, and Aria DM-X10, all for different reasons. If I were to go with just one, it would be the Sea Machine. I've converted chorus haters with that one.

You can get some great chorus-esque sounds with the EQD Rainbow Machine, as well. Good stuff.

That said, the Iron Ether Polytope looks amazing - I will have to try that one sometime.

My favorite as of late has been the ProTone Nectar Chorus. It's super simple with depth and rate knobs and sounds really good. It nails that "I just tracked the same part a couple of times to make a natural sounding chorus" sound very well.

Plus the artwork is great. You almost feel bad stepping on it. Almost.

I haven't messed w chorus in a while after reading this post I want I try the dr scientist and IE ones.

But 20 years ago I had a CE-1 ($125) and it was amazing! Retro-Sonic makes a pretty good clone.
I haven't looked up the schematic but I always assumed the CE-1 was the same as the JC-120 and you can get a JC series for the same price as you can get CE-1 now days but if I won the lotto I'd get a space echo w chorus and reverb. I think I'll buy a ticket today if I win Space Echos on me!
