Only thing that hasn't changed on my board is my English Muff'n pre amp and Super Tri-Fuzz. If I have those two I'll be fine. Modulation, Delay, etc. changes a lot. I can't seem to find a simple delay that satisfied my needs.... the Deluxe Memory Man was the closest, and I'll probably grab one of those again. But really every pedal outside of those two are extra sounds to play with, because I can mostly get everything done with those two pedals.

I also always have an overdrive on my board like a Fuck or my Devi LP. And my God Machine I'll never get rid of, but it's more for synths, making noise, and recording guitars than live playing. That pedal was made so I'd stop trading between Rocket/Godzilla and other Soda Meiser based circuits/pedals. Get it all in one box so I can focus on other things.... like theSYLE pedals.

My board has been slowing to a stop over the last few months as I have isolated what I need from what I want. I still need to move a few pedals and then pick up a Rusty box and then I should be done for a long time. Unless my band gets famous and I can bump up to a PT-PRO with a more noise/whacky pedals that I don't have a use for now.

I think the hardest part is discerning what your sonic goals are and then figuring out the est way to achieve those sounds.

I've had the same pedals all summer and about half of those, I've had for a year at least. Those are flanger, vibrato, ds-1, and a tuner. The ones I've gotten more recently that I'm pretty sure I'm keeping are volume, octave fuzz, comp, and delay. When I go for another round of upgrades, I'll snag a tremolo, reverb, and chorus.

I've pretty much got it covered for my cover band. But, as I've started to get into effects more and more I've been experimenting (effects are still fairly new to me) and learning. Trying to find different sounds and what combinations do what... That part of it is still going strong and breaking my wallet. Things are going on personally though that will slow me down for a little bit.

Ghost Disaster at the start of the chain, then all kinds of dirt, modulation section, then a Goatse, another delay and mini-RRR at the end. The dirt and modulation gets swapped around a fair bit but that helps keep it fun.

Very cool... so do you use the ghost as a "wash" of sound feeding into all the dirt?

Haki, that board sounds awesome! Recently I've been liking the idea of doing that type of "sandwiching" with dirt and modulation, and reverb and delay on both sides of the chain. It's just a matter of WHICH pedals I like the best. I just left the band that I was playing in to focus on my own music, and I'm still finding the "sound" that I want for recordings and live shows. And although I'm inspired by pedals, I think sometimes they stray me from what sounds I actually want... Hmm

I never flip pedals. EVER. It's a rule I have.
