It's an effect called the DEP-1c

You mean this 'un right here? http://gieskes.nl/effects/?file=dep-1

Crazy sounds, by the way. Just getting into it, but congrats - it's clearly been a labor of love!

That's the one. And thanks!!

yah. this is very cool stuff. just bought it.

dig it a lot actually. reminds me in parts of some of the more technical angry Japanese stuff like 9 MM Parabellum Bullet or Thee Machinegun Elephant. but definitely it's own thing.

nice!

So we put out our first record(read: CD) in early 2009. We recorded it in a friend's basement. Then, not having any idea what we were doing, we tried to book a 2 month US tour, which actually went pretty OK, but left me/us financially ruined for a bit.

We took time off. In that time(2009-2010), I did a massive pedalboard expansion and VERY SLOWLY taught myself the beginnings of what would become these songs(some I wrote, some Marcus wrote on the computer and I had to learn track-by-track). It took FOREVER to get these things to work out with all the loops, pedal tweaking, developing ideas, getting tight, playing shows all the while. But the thing that took the longest was making any kind of money to pay to actually make it. We officially recorded these tracks in Feb-march of 2011, ran out of money, came back and re-did/added some guitar stuff, added guest players (trumpet, double drummer, keys, etc) then we sort of lost touch with the engineer/studio owner for a bit. He had another real business, so recording bands was more of a hobby. So the studio sat for most of 2011. When we finally got around to scheduling dates to finish up/mix, we found out that during our time off the studio had been totally infested with every kind of mold you can imagine. Apparently the basement had flooded earlier that year and no one knew about it, since the studio was directly above this basement(we recorded in an old factory) it just crept up into the equipment and the studio was declared unsafe to work in. We didn't even get the bare master tracks until Feb 2012, and at that time we had no idea or money for what to do with them.

Luckily, I have very amazing friends who live in a warehouse(where, coincidentally, WIZARD currently lives), which happens to have a very nice recording studio in it. They let us use the studio to mix the record for free over the course of a few weeks. Marcus and I had to learn how to use protools more or less on our own without any previous experience with the software(Marc does have an extensive knowledge of FL Studio, however.)

Ok. So now it's mixed. We tried to include vocals, it wasn't working out so we scrapped that. We got together a couple hundred bucks, got the record professionally mastered. We never really thought to ask anyone to put it out, so when it was all done we were scratching our heads. I got a new job that pays alright, so we scraped together some money and decided to start our own label. Associated Sounds, Ltd. Shot a video, I did some graphic design, figured out some numbers, and there you go.

Thank you very much for supporting us. As you can see, we've worked tirelessly to make this thing happen, but we couldn't have done it without amazing friends, family, and cool people such as yourself. So thanks.

fuck. that is a JOURNEY.

well, if it's any consolation, the album is AMAZING. i love pretty much every second. bumped it during a longish drive today and i was so mesmerized it made it feel like a 12 minute drive.

thanks for the info, and thanks for the bad ass music!

this is pretty cool! i am more drawn to the heavy spazzy portions rather than the more cleanish post-rock stuff, but that's just a personal preference.

i would go see your band if you played in my town, for sure.
