Tea leaves might have more caffeine in them than coffee beans, but most of it is not extracted from the leaves. The average cup of coffee has like...three times the amount of caffeine than a cup of tea.
The reason caffeine from tea works better is because the high concentration of antioxidants present in tea slows the absorption of the caffeine. This means that you don't get the jolt you do from coffee, but the sensation lasts longer and tapers instead of crashes.
Having extracted caffeine from tea in a lab, I've seen in person how little caffeine is actually in tea. It's surprising to think that what people are so addicted to is just a small amount of a white powder...oh wait that's not surprising at all.
Apparently there is a problem with the Grand Orbiter I sold. Needless to say I spent the money in a matter of 30 minutes. Refunding the dude will be pretty bad for my mood. Hopefully there is some other way to work this out.
