By all means don't bother listening to all 12 minutes, it's all just mad doomz and repeated sections so you won't miss much skipping around. Drums are definitely still a work in progress, working on getting more variation and a better beat in some parts.

jrmy your stuff is very cool!

your tone is massive. how do you get it?

Thanks! I really love how the tone turned out on this, happiest I've ever been with a recorded guitar sound.

Guitar and bass are both tuned down to C, main tone for both is a Meathead clone into an Ashdown Little Bastard into a 4x10, mic'd with a Rode NT-3, super fucking loud so there's just a tiiiny bit of clipping from the recording interface preamp. There's a bit in the middle where the guitar has an Upper on as well, but that's really it. Meathead+loud amp = doom. :animal:

Just listened to your track, verrrrrrry nice! Really cool atmosphere and I love the near-clipping recording sound! Is the whole album like that?

Thanks, and wow! Those bands are just like my thing, and I'd never heard of either. I love that Warning track. :thumb:

I looked them up and got really excited when I saw they were from the UK, then read they split up 3 years ago. :(

This record took a total of 3 years to write and record. Fully paid for and pressed by ourselves on our own label (Associated Sounds, Ltd.), and we also mixed it. I'd like to hear what y'all think of it.

is this for me?

if so, YES...

i record everything too loud... and the drums are always in the red when i record them :)

my secret is a four-track tape player i plug into with EVERYTHING... and i push it to the red so i get that nice compressions from pushing a machine past its limits, so i don't do it on an actual digital machine!

Yeah I was talking to you, and it sounds a lot like some stuff I recorded with a tape four-track, that sound of pushing them juuust into the red is awesome. :thumb: So is the sound of fucking punishing them with volume, when you need it.

Hot! I was kinda waiting for you to start singing though. Maybe because you seemed to lurk up on the Mic throughout the whole song.

Here's a demo we recorded with Dazzle Ships. Be gentle.
I was too lazy to cut off the hickups at beginning and end, so was our dude that takes care of the recording stuff. It was all recorded in one take in the practice room save for the vocals which I overdubbed.

Another one, this one was recorded track-by-track and is lacking the energy it is supposed to have. That is why my voice is a bit hanging there.

Cool tracks phantasmo! The band has a neat vibe, mellow but edgy, and I like it.
