Personally I'm going to use it in the middle of my chain and use the console to supplement my current lineup without having a sprawling pedalboard. And for simple jam sessions it could definitely come in handy. Or just set it on top of my synth and use it to make fun noises.

Is this going to have soft-touch switching? Because that would be :animal: ! And, how is this thing going to be powered?

On your first point... EXACTLY. Glad people are vibing on what this is really about. :)

... and to answer your question, it'll be basic True Bypass switching, and powered by a standard 9volt input.

So this isn't exactly a true gig pedal, it's more for recording.
So you switch up sounds quickly and easily.
That actually make a lot of sense to me.

It's totally a gigging pedal as well, but for people who are always exploring new tones... or want different sounds between different gigs, etc. :)

It'll be a lot less expensive to rotate cartridges out of a Console over time than it would be to buy entirely new pedals every time you fall in love with a new style of fuzz, phase, or delay. :)

plhogan. I agree with you. Setting turn around dead lines and not meeting them sucks. We don't take it lightly and we have always given refunds to people who are upset with such things.

I'm doing the absolute best I can to get the business back on its feet so we never miss deadlines, especially for those who have placed pre-orders. Our system still isn't perfect, but we are working on it and take it VERY seriously when people are disappointed with us or our products.

I can understand that we have disappointed you at some point in the past (though I'm honestly not sure to what your specific grievance is), but don't you think that if we were continuing on some kind of downward trajectory in which we were continually "screwing people over" as it were, that a lot more people would be reporting to thread, and that no one would be supporting the Console?

I can only assume that you backed the Silver Rose kickstarter and dealt with the long wait / bugs we had to work out with the Silver Rose, but as I have already said before not only have we given refunds, fixed people's pedals, or offered exchanges when requested, but the reason we are asking for a lot more money this kickstarter, plus setting a very long return time is because we learned from the mistakes of the last kickstarter and don't plan on making the same ones again.

I should also reiterate that this project is being supported by not only myself and my wonderful business manager Charlotte, but also by Ken at Infanem who I think everyone can agree it top notch in the business and goes out of his way to create a timely, well functioning device.

Once again, I'm extremely embarrassed and regretful by the way I let the business go the past few years, but I'd really hope that my continued effort to move forward is enough to slowly win you back on board, and I look forward to impressing you as the years go by, because it's only going to get better from here my friend, I promise.

Devi - there's been awhile where you've come off as a little... disconnnected i guess? but it sounds like you've been going through stuff so heavy i can't even begin to relate. and i dig that you haven't risen to the Let's See Devi Explode bait in this thread that in the past would have made everything here go to shit. well played.

this project doesn't do much for me but i wish you the best of luck and it's great to hear you sounding way happier.

I feel that the console 2 would be a neat pedal to use live, this would be more towards people like me who are at home and on a budget.

I have been a fan of DE forever. Devi's work turned me on too all of the amazing builders and the life long friendships that I have made here at ILF. I also empathize what Devi has gone through, no amount of explanation can really show someone what she has been through.

Everyone fails and every messes up and when you run a business it can take years to rebuild a reputation. I mean take a look at the saga of monolith speakers, if Wade ever recovers it is going to take years for him to recover.

I feel that A LOT is riding on this project. You have mentioned that Ken is the head engineer on this project but I kind of feel like it might as well be the Console II by infahem rather than Devi Ever.

Where is the circuit bending mad science stuff? When I think Devi Ever I think of Manglers, Improbability Drive, and the awesome variations on the Torn's Peaker + and so on. This seems so generic, I do not see the difference between this or a M9 or any other multi effect processing unit. Other than the nifty little cartridges.

I still hope that you are going to continue to work on customs, because for me that is what I keep on waiting for. If you would have stuck a joystick in the middle of this I would have given you 300.00 weeks ago.

It is my hope and best wishes that this works out.

S'okay boo. Since you announced the Console I, I've been having problems with wanting it. Like, junkie style problems.

Well, once again, $50 versions of all my fuzzes with five knobs a piece... doesn't get much more expansive and bent (while being affordable) than that. I mean... unless having a $50 five knobbed BIT : Legend of Fuzz with oscillation is too boring for ya. ;)

Ken just finished tracing the ID circuit and you can bet your britches we'll be releasing it as a cartridge... probably not at $50, but definitely not at the $300 it'd take to do it in pedal form.

Once again, the difference between this and any other multi-fx unit is that whenever I (or anyone) feels like expanding a design, or creating something new, it's as simple as putting it together on a perfboard cartridge and releasing it as such.

I thought I had mentioned this here before, but one of the things I'm looking most forward to is creating synth / noise cartridges with built in 1/8 jacks that you can plug into each other... turn your Console into a miniature modular synth!

I guess this is my fault for not really ranting on all the possibilities and what I see happening in the future, but then again I am trying to take this a step at a time and right now the most affordable thing that will get the project going is converting all my small pedals (while expanding them) into the cartridges... getting together with Ken to design a delay cart, and releasing the Consoles... building more money over time to then get more new cartridge designs engineered.

You gotta remember, this is all in the brutal cycle of keeping a business running, so it's going to take time before you start seeing the really cool cartridges that I KNOW will surface, if not from us, then from the DIYers who are sure to get on board, or the other pedal makers who are going to enjoy the benefit of the format.

... and in regards to the comment about this might as well being an Infanem production.... The concept is mine, Ken is being hired to do the engineering. Believe me, Ken's on board with the idea, but this is my baby, and I'm the one putting the time, money, and effort to push it forward and keep it going. You guys gotta realize the reality of this biz is as much idea people like me working with talented engineers as much as it is talented engineers working for themselves. I'm sorry if that somehow feels less genuine, but believe me when I say as much as I know Ken enjoys the extra money and the design challenges, he's got a bright future ahead of him that doesn't involve silly little things like Consoles... but that's not to say that helping me with my silly little projects isn't also helping him get to his amazing future of "Instruments with a focus on aluminum and other engineering materials... and
Amplification" There's a reason we've been able to stand each other as room mates for two years, and business associates for longer... it's a good symbiotic relationship, and I'm looking forward to continue to support him as much as he has supported me as we both grow our businesses. :)

Oh... and as far as Joysticks go... well... if Allesandro Cortini has anything to say about it.... there will definitely be a place for joysticks, envelope followers, and stereo outputs in a future iteration of the console. :wha?:

Let me know when that happens :hello: I miss my mangler the most

I am sure you are going to get funded. I am more excited because you took the time to explain where this concept is going, and I do hope that DIY'ers are going to take off with cartridges. I don't think it is going to set the world on fire but if this does take off it could be very cool.
