I'm gassing hard for the new iPad. Figured I could use it to record semi-decent pedal demos as the built in mic is surprisingly good and I'm sure the camera would be serviceable. Add to the fact that I could just edit on the iPad and upload to youtube from it as well. I already have Animoog and would probably find a compatible hardware keyboard to use with it for my synth sounds. I'd also be better for web browsing and video watching around the house than my clunky laptop that gets 2 hours of battery life.

Since I'm kind of a tech geek my long term plan would be having the iPad for portability and all day battery life and get a 15" Windows 8 laptop whenever they come out for more powerful audio recording and beatmaking with my Maschine Mikro. Or should I just get a new Macbook Air?

I think Airs are a pain in the ass. They've only got 4-6 gigs of storage on the actual laptops, and everything else is cloud. That makes me feel uneasy

I'd be planning to save up and get the 256GB SSD one with the Ivy Bridge 2.0ghz I7 processor and 8GB of RAM so with my student discount (which isn't much) it would come to: $1629

I've never used an OSX computer extensively though so it'd take a little adjustment

The Airs actually come with a bit of memory on them now? Word! Well, I think the Ipad would be more portable but less practical for every day use and for using all together. I still think of the ipad as a toy rather than a tool for whatever reason

Yeah I'm kinda leaning towards just an all in one solution. The Air has great battery life is super light and portable and I could use professional soft synths and audio production software on it. It just means I have a little more saving to do. Might just wait for Windows 8 to come out for comparison.

Yeah, I have realized that the best way to sort this stuff out is to go mindlessly jam for a few minutes on the pedal boards, when you realize you aren't hitting a pedal much you can move it.

Ghost Dissaster is awesome, but I was only using the verb because my echobox is lethal, so now I got RRR into Echobox and it should give me room to put my old DL10 back on the board.

It's a play on words of El Capitan, or "captain", and capstan, which does... Something related to tape machines.
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

If you want to save a preset other than the settings you leave the pedal on, you'll need another pedal/controller.

try harder!
I wanna have a full analog board, but I really like what the Capistan can do in such a small enclosure.
my plan is to use my live gear for recording too (some principles lol), and I'm afraid that the Capistan won't be able to deliver :/
