Need help identifying some pedals..

Post by Chriss »

Can anyone shed any light on these?

Image

It's a beast of a board. I need help with the red one next the the boss delay and the black one next to the trem. I know the top row and I'm guessing the bottom row are just custom fuzzes etc as he builds his own stuff.

The red one could be a bat Pharoh based on the knob/switch layout

Yeah, could be a Pharaoh. I was going to say maybe LSTR until I saw the switches.

Mm, my guess was the pharaoh but does the pharaoh have stereo outs? The black on is really bothering me.

Yeah... his board has really stumped me. I sussed his last tour board out but now it's ridiculous  it's wired really confusingly too.

The Horrors. They used to be/look a bit silly and the music was average (the live guitar work was great and noisy though) but the last two albums have been amazing with great mbv-type guitar work etc.

Look like diy stuff to me. Both are in plane jane boxes, and he apparently builds. Just try asking him perhaps?

everyone dismisses the first album, but it fucking rocks. if you like stuff like the birthday party, you may appreciate it.

I do really like the first album, I just prefer the guitar work on the last two.

I asked him about him having a rack unit and he lied to me about that so I guess he probably wouldn't tell me haha

I remember reading or watching a video about how he mods a lot of his effects back when they released Strange House. Maybe they're boxes he made or someone else made?

yeah they are probably DIY. That's annoying cause I really want to know what they are :picard: the positions of them are what are throwing me off guessing what they could be cause they are no where near dirt pedals which is what I'd expect from him to make himself. Plus, the black one is on nearly the whole time through their set so it's a big part of his sound.

Have you guys heard of the guitar/synth he made? Sounds pretty cool. Check out their song Monica Gems to see what it sounds like, although I think he plugged it in backwards for that song.

Here's the instrumental for the song:
