What's the signal chain?

Thanks! Signal chain is Guitar > Fallout Labs Buffered Interface(input then going out to drive pedals) > Vertex Axis Wah > Himmelstrutz Gramps+ > XTS Preamp > Interface(effects loop then out to modulation pedals) > Tremolessence > RRR > Deep Blue Delay > Interface > Amp.

There are input and output buffers in the interface but I prefer to just use the output buffer eventhough my wah and the Gramps+ are not sensitive to buffers like other wahs and fuzzes. I just prefer a bit of the rolloff on the highs caused by the cable(15ft) from guitar to interface, it just feels more natural that way. The interface's footswitch serves as a tuner/mute switch for silent tuning. The effects loop shorts out the signal if there are no pedals in its loop just like in amplifiers so I don't have to put jumper cables on it. With this function, I don't have to move the essential pedals if I want to insert a pedal between the drive section and the modulation section. My board is a poorman's Vertex/LA Sound/XTS board.lHere's the diagram for the signal:

It's really close now too.. it's just a matter of balancing the clock noise/high frequency response of the circuit now and I'm gonna work on it this weekend as much as I can. That's the bottom line though.. it's gonna be worth the wait bigtime! *smile*

Haha yeah! I could release an amazing noise pedal... you wouldn't believe the hiss and squeaks you can get out of a BBD chip if you push it hard and don't filter it, it's nuts. I never thought about that before but to the right crowd a crazy white noise generator with rate control, tone control, squeak control, could go over very well!

Well, I'm probably not actually going to do a noise pedal but if you guys want I'll pull the compander sections and ditch a couple filter sections and make you a hiss-squeak generator. *smile*

Since this thread is bumped I'll tell you my plans for the next little while...

I'm going to finish up the couple of orders I have in right now and then I'm going to take the first week of July to finalize the bread-board and do the pcb layout changes and get another proto board ordered. I think it's ready now, really, *laughs and sighs*, and I think if I kick butt with this next proto layout it'll be ready for production quotes. That'll put us within 2-3 months of having the pedal ready for stores and I think it's realistic this time since the circuit is very very close to ready again and is performing badassedly.

One compromise (I don't really consider it that) is that I'm not going to have the v3 Cosmi run off 18V, it'll be 9V only. I have several reasons involving the BBD biasing, the oscillator, and the clock, and I really really feel that it just ain't worth the circuit compromises/changes to run at two different voltages. It's best that the circuit runs it's absolute best at one voltage and that one voltage shall be 9.

But that's where I'm at right now.. looking forward to next week and finalizing this sucker!

I had no problem with the Comischorus version two at 9v myself. I don't think I've tried running it with 18v, actually. I might give that a try and see if I like it.

And this is quite exciting. I had thought this was at least six months away, so it's cool to hear that it should be finished and in stores come Halloween. *cough zombie graphic V2 cough*

Still, I have no money to go replacing my V2 with a V3, it's just exciting to see things progress.

Don't do it Danny, you'll kill it! The v1 and v2 could only handle 9V! *starts packing for Ireland to knock the 18V adapter out of Danny's hand just in time*

I've got it tuned great for 9VDC and I think I'm going to include a trimpot on the pcb to adjust input gain, just cause that's a common concern with bbd pedals... they can't handle a super hot signal level but they sound their best (in terms of signal to noise ratio at least) with as hot of an input signal as possible.

The v3 is gonna own the v2 in several ways buddy, so prepare to have your arm twisted in the future... *smile*

Ooh, I see. I thought you meant that people would be disappointed to hear that you could only run the V3 at 9v because they were a fan of running V2 at 18v. My fault!

The ONLY reason why I would be apprehensive to get V3 as a replacement for V2, apart from finding the funds, is because it has special graphics on it. I my Cosmichorus V2.
