Best Rotary/ Vibe pedal?

Post by Phengren Oswald »

What do you think? Totally in love with that old rotary speaker
sound on vocals and keys. Do any of you have a favorite vibe/ rotary
emulator?

Neo Ventilator. It's expensive and quite limited in its application, but it's the best simulator I've heard.

Strymon Lex, which I've been GASing for so damn hard recently. On a more affordable take, the Boss RT-20 is surprisingly good.

Neo Ventilator has the best rep out of all of them, but is the most expensive. Strymon's Lex is also well regarded, and has a ton of options as well.

I'll go with the lame non-boutique option and tell you to get a Fulltone DejaVibe.

I've checked out videos of the Lex before and it sounds pretty rad, about the very top of what I think
I'm willing to spend.
What about the Fulltone? Too basic? More of a "phase" effect?

There's nothing wrong with it, sound pretty much like a univibe.

 Fulltone isn't Boutique anymore. The more you know. I still would have put it under the Boutique label.

In terms of best... i'd go with Neo Ventilator
compact yet awesome? Strymon Lex
Affordable? Boss RT-20
Huge and rare but awesome sounding? Korg G4

those are the rotary pedals... if you want vibe, i'd look at the Fulltone or for example Wilson Haze ;)

Definitely want the Rotary sound and looks like it'll be a toss up between the Strymon (if there's one out there)
the Boss......

If you wanna go totally budget, TC Shaker Vibrato is passable. There're a lot of things about it I'm not thrilled with, but it sounds nice enough.

I really bent on finding something with the stereo outs. Want to create as much
weird out modulation as possible. Looked at the Dunlop Rotovibe which didn't seem so bad,
and I like the foot control but it looks like it's only a mono-output.

Ventilator has stereo outs. It's a pretty straight ahead Leslie simulator, dunno if that's exactly what you're looking for.

Here's the demo that sold me on it:
