Dirt Transmitter Transistors

Post by jwri9790 »

Been thinking of putting in a socket in my Dirt Transistor so I can swap and try some transistors. Has anyone had an success using different transistors in the Dirt Transmitter? I want it to sound a bit more like a fuzz face and have a more 60s vintage vibe to it. Can I simply just try some NPN germanium transistors that other people are using in other Fuzz Face pedals?

I doubt anyone here has modded their DT. You can, of course, do just that though, and play around with different trannys. I'm willing to bet, however, that the changes you want, would come more from reversing any modifications Jamie made to the circuit itself. Not just the diff transistors. Which at that point, you should prob just make yourself a custom fuzzface.

This. SUPER easy build if you do a BYOC clone or the like.
