jk my question is this, i have sonar 6 cakewalk program and an Alesis recording multimix mixer.......now i went to guitarcenter the other day and got pickups (lace sensores hellosyes!) and the guy said why not just use an interface???
would an interface be better than the alesis multimix mixer??? i bought the mixer for 300 if that helps baseing it on anything...... cant wait for checks to get here shoegazer time!!!!
p.s. i dont even know what an interface is, i thought i had one but it turns out its some sort of midi device/cable...... so i dont know what the fuck i was talking about. ill look up on google and guitarcenter what interface is the the meantime........
please help if you can tell me which one would be better!!!!!!
hey guys! another question, since i got my new pickups, lace senors, im wondering if i can sell my american vintage pickups.......its from 1957 reissue stratocaster 2007 edition. but on ebay they are all set on .99 cents i want to get my moneys worth so im wondering if you guys know how much they could be ?
i don't know anything about this stuff but my guess is that the GC dude was just trying to sell you something.
if you are using like synths or other Midi stuff (or had a crappy soundcard) then i would say yeah but if the Alesis mixer has a USB & you are using Cakewalk for just recording then i don't see why you would need an interface.
but again IDK much about this stuff & i have been recently trying to figure this stuff out also.
it doesn't sound like you need an interface...the Alesis should work fine.
and IMO don't sell the original pickups in your strat. If you ever decide you want to sell it people will want the original pickups...it'll at least help the resale value. just put 'em in a plastic bag somewhere safe and if you ever sell you can just pop them back in.
