Really interesting, and dead sexy.
Video is super long, so skip to the end if you just wanna see the final product.

Re: DIY Glass PCBs
That was really cool. I recommend people watch the whole thing.
You thinking about doing some of these there D? Before he finished, I was thinking, "how the hell would I drill these?" but then it made sense. I think it would be fun for a limited run or something...or a touch-based controller like the video.

Re: DIY Glass PCBs
I'd love to use it for some SMD stuff if I could find a less touchy way to do it.
The comments of that video suggested that pyrex glass would be more resistant to the etching solution. I bet it would be less likely to crack as well.
I also bet a thin epoxy would be a better adhesive... you might not even need special copper sheets.

Re: DIY Glass PCBs
Why not just use the white/semi transparent FR-4 board?
Looks the same and it FAR more durable/drillable/easier to work and make.

Re: DIY Glass PCBs
I've never seen FR-4 that was nearly that clear. Although, I've also never seen it polished up... I guess it is fairly transparent.
THIS MUST BE INVESTIGATED.
But the glass is totally clear. Which looks super awesome.

He covers it with poly and it makes it completely clear. Could be done with the fr4 as well?

Ah, ok...must have missed that bit.
The "white" Fr-4 is always a bit frosted.
