Cheap. Trying to figure out what these boxes do.
Bleak Follw. Trying to figure out what a passive distortion box sounds like.
Anyone tried them?

Re: Squarewave Parade?
I've got no idea what a passive distortion would be.
wish he had sound samples.
A variable impedance matcher might be nice, but he doesn't state if its for matching guitar, effects etc or for amp to cabinet.
I kind of guess the former. The price is right though.
and they are pretty.

Re: Squarewave Parade?
i have a bleak mixser and imp matcher. they're both holding up just fine.
the mixser is pretty self-explanitory.
the imp matcher is basically a 'reamp'. i use mine to run recorded line level stuff back into my amp or as a DI box. for the size and function i can't complain.
p.s. they are very pretty and have a lovely 'lo-fi' charm to the spray painted graphics.

Re: Squarewave Parade?
I've got the bleak waveshaper as well as the bleak follw. All Steven's stuff -- these boxes included -- are mega cool.
Both of these are extremely interesting, albeit more subtle than your typical fuzzbox. The waveshaper takes the waveform and squares off the top when you turn the control knob from center in one direction. Turn it in the other direction, and it squares off the bottom of the waveform instead. The filter knob kinda tweeks the way the distortion sounds, rather than actually acting as a standard EQ/filter.
The result on the waveshaper is sort of this weird lo-fi dirt. I love it, because it's much more an overall texture than your typical distortion. I've actually found it perfect for creating effects that make my axe sound as if it were coming through an old AM radio, for instance. Or, if I add my Behringer Vibrato and a little Guyatone tremolo (both set very light and slow, for a bit of random wow and warble) and play with the filter knob, I can get sounds that remind me a lot of the tone from an old degraded cassette tape.
The bleak follw is more of the same, but much more configurable. Truthfully, I've been having so much fun with the waveshaper that I haven't dedicated very much time to the follw... yet(!). Same can be said for my pervrs incentv, which is a FLOOP with the waveshaper and a normal filter built right in.
However, there should be samples up on the TSP site for the follw. At least there were when my GAS finally tipped me into buying one (at twice the current price, I might add).
Both the waveshaper and the follw are incredible bargains right now. Steven's a great guy, and will go out of his way to make sure you're satisfied. If I weren't in a cash crunch right at the moment, I'd run (not walk, run) over to buy another of each just to have as a backup.
The guy's brilliant, he comes up with great pedals, and he deserves our support.

Re: Squarewave Parade?
Has anyone made a demo video of any of these? I dig the idea of the waveshaper (at least from how its described). And it is a heck of a bargain... $29!?
I'd love to know what it is actually capable of.

Dude, a ball pit is not... weren't you ever a little kid? Ya know, a ball pit, with the plastic balls and you'd jump in it... it's not a gay bar!

Re: Squarewave Parade?
I ordered a Wave Shaper earlier today. I love the idea of passive effects. I'll report back when it arrives.
