Actually I think the one that people on TB love is the Orange Squeezer compressor.

The Octavius Squeezer is an Analog synth pedal with digital controls (50 presets). It has a gated fuzz circuit (brown dog) a Filter (agent 00Funk), an octaver. The The filter can be controlled by emvelope, LFO, can be made static, also 4 different wave forms. The pedal can make great sounds, the problem is the UI sucks. This is a pretty complicated pedal to program your patches on, from most accounts.
Mine has a beta version of the 12th firmware that has 10 extra factory presets (usually ships with 30, mine has 40), supposedly done by (maybe for) Paul Turner (Jamiroqui, they are supposed to be pretty good patches).
Anyways, I am ready for the frustrating experience, if the results pan out.

It kinda makes me think of an M5 on steroids. Analog steroids.

That sounds... complicated?

Bitchy interface would be a serious deal-breaker for me, unless the pedal sounds like sunlight beams of crazy tone amazing.

I can confirm that the UI sucks balls and a half. It took me an entire evening to figure it out good enough to make 2 patches. But it really is insanely powerful. Also, both the filter and the vca can be set to follow an ADSR as well, which is hella awesome. As Delta said, it has a VCO with 4 different waveforms (square, saw, triangle and trapezoid, which is just a smoother square), it also has portamento, and you can use one of the footswitches as a momentary "modulate" switch. So like you can have a patch going where the filter is a slow sweeping thing, and then you hold down the second switch and all of a sudden the filter is being swept by a fast LFO, kinda a poor-man's wobble. Really, the only thing the Squeezer is missing is an exp input. (and a computer-based editor for the patches would be really nice, too).

Yeah, I think I could program that pretty easily. (Now that I actually know how the parameters work)

I want that sound in a pedal.

Ideally it'd be a one knob (for intensity) jobby like the Nano Bassballs. The Toggle would switch between G-Funk and P-Funk.

Obviously, It'd be called the Regulator.

gah. i feel like such a Hater Gator lately. like i only ever have negative stuff to say about gear. but i kinda hated the OS. i love the idea, and i had that and the Mark Bass Super Synth dealy and both their interfaces where so gawd awful it made them annoying to useless.

plus, i don't really dig the Agent00 or Brown Dog, so i've heard peoples do some crazy awesome shits with the OS, but i think it's just not for me.

annnnnnnnd i KNOW i didn't point in the learning time that it needs to use the OS well. was so frustrating i didna want to.

I have yet to meet a filter or synth of any kind that I liked. I only loved the Prunes & Custard when it was mixed with OD through a parallel looper. I know. I know....I have issues. :erm:
