Top 5 bands of a genre
In the vein of a similar thread I saw recently, pick one genre and give your top 5 bands of that genre. I'll go first. (Doesn't have to be 100% perfect on the genre. For example Samothrace mixes in some blues, Warning is considered by many to be just doom - although I think they cross over to the funeral side of things - etc.)
Funeral Doom Metal
Ahab
Ea
Esoteric
Samothrace
Warning

Post-Metal:
Isis
Neurosis
Pelican
Jesu
Boris* (was Godflesh)
My biggest problem with making this list is whether to include Boris or not. I tend to think of them more as drone or sludge, at least the more famous albums. If you want to include Boris, then put them in instead of Godflesh, who also arguably doesn't belong here.
EDIT:: Fuck it, Boris is in.
