Me too!!! I hope you guys understand as well that I'm not taking anything away from Ken in terms of productivity and pushing forward with his incredibly brilliant effects plans... as a matter of fact, I'd like to think I'm his biggest supporter. It's not exactly as though he is doing me favors with his great engineering work. I pay him plenty of money, and he works on my projects when he has down time with his own. Not to mention we're good friends and have been enjoying the pleasure of each other's company as room mates for almost a year now. :)

No one was accusing you. Everything is good :)
Fingers crossed that it will come out as a succesful project and end in a great product.

From the first time around:

CBA wrote:...I also feel like it could go the direction of something like a vinyl record versus an mp3 on an iPod. Now, this is only my initial reaction, and purely based on my own preferences and psychological make-up, but it feels to me like I could either have a "real" Soda Meiser or Faye Sing or a "ported" version of the same pedal... i.e. the actual stand-alone stompbox, or the effect in a cartridge. I don't know anything about building effects, so I'm not sure about the way the effect would sound via a stompbox or via a cartridge connected to a core unit... I reckon that the electronics/signal are probably the same, but I also feel arguments (i.e. something like true bypass / false bypass) about "the pedal version sounds better" etc. I think maybe the vinyl versus mp3 analogy might be a little more accurate, but I don't want to piss off the builders by assuming that the sound or quality would be any different, because it probably isn't.

I do think it's a neat idea, though. I also commend Devi for her positivity.

But it isn't all that new it is a updated version or the 70's Electra MPC guitars with built in effects. only diffs are they had no controls and were built into your guitar.

Also, I think Korg made a console like multi effect in the 80s
Still, I'm looking forward to this....again

well, i've been on both ends of the opinion spectrum on the C2, and at this point i'm inclined to just wait and see what develops. the new iteration with the Blend does offer more interesting possibilities, but the loss of the other manufacturers as cartridge developers is a blow...one of the most interesting things about the concept to me is the ability to mix and match, and especially with the level of makers involved that was exciting. it's clearly an idea that's dear to you, Devi, and i hope it works out.

Thanks.

Well, as interest is proven (we're at 15% of the goal already!) I'll definitely be contacting pedal builders once again... actually, probably starting tomorrow. :)

A few companies have I "think" rocktron too..
That's why when some one goes "it's a new idea" um no it isn't this has been tried in one form or another for over 30 years. And also if you are not [or are no longer] a gamer the video gameness is meh... sorry but ya'know...

the Electra guitars had interchangable modules, or at least some of them did.

but who cares if it's "new"? there was "nothing new under the sun" back when Ecclesiastes was written.

I am not saying the Console II it a bad idea at all. Just not a "new" one. Like anything else if YOU have a use for it it is worth what ever wait and price it is, but that is up to all the YOUS out there..

I *think* I'd be really into the Console I, especially if other builders get involved. I'd be much more into this if I were still in the beginning stages of building my board or if there were actual working demos. I realize that's probably not possible at this point, but I'm really excited to see this finally come to life.

I hope it's a good product, I have faith.

I don't expect the moon and the stars from small builders, and things happen.

It's the price I pay to get fun toys that I couldn't have dreamed of 20 years ago.

I'm going to be contacting other pedal builders soon about getting their support for developing Cartridges. :)
