Dude, nice. I'm jealous. I only ever hear great stuff about the RME interfaces; If I had the money I'd definitely have gone for one (I went for an Echo Audiofire 4 which does a solid job).

I had also to safe a bit of money for it but i was also aiming for a final solution and i have no idea which mic preamps to buy (and that stuff gets pretty pricy) - so the built-in mic preamps came handy.
...and i don't need more than 4 mic channels
I buy preamps if i don't know on which amp or pedal i should spend the money

I played an excelsior at my local shoppe today and it's actually really nice. I want it a lot now.
