And Justice for All...
Listening to this for the first time in perhaps 10 years - what a bloody great album. Shame about the piss poor production, but yeah.

You're right on that one! I believe the album was responsible for starting the "proto-dubstep" movement

my Youth albums, I can listen to this a few times and remember all the stupid fun we did that year - a good loooong memory lane that lasts a few rounds through.

I agree. Despite the bass guitar being non-existent as an apparent rib on Jason Newsted for not being Cliff and/or dead, I really like the sound of Justice. It's like a tight weightlessness.

I absolutely adore this album. You can feel the palm mutes! the mids ahhh. It is a shame Jason's bass is non-existent because he is a really tight player, but it adds to the charm of the album. and plus

As good as anything on the first three... and I've always enjoyed the production for some reason, this was the soundtrack to me painting Warhammer 40k figures when I was a wee little shaver

AJFA is fucking awesome. Agreed with whoever said it was Metallica's best album. It always bothered me that there was no bass on it, but I still loved it.
By the way, because of the rock band games, people got ahold of some of the original bass tracks that Jason recorded for the album, so you can at least hear what it should have sounded like now.

Ha.. Jason's playing really tight indeed. This mix is ridiculous, though. Still, fun to hear.
