I believe we are all going to agree with Aen and Pumpkin Pieces on this.

No disrespect to your abilities or pedals, but you've gone about this the wrong way.

I think he was referring to the community in a global sense... :idk:

BUT I do agree that you should have at least a demo. Maybe some gut shots.

Yeah, I mean, I can see both sides of the issue, but I like to assume the best. It's hard to tell whether someone just found us and is interested in sticking around and being part of the community or if they're just trying to market their product. The fact that this user makes boutique stompboxes does lead me to believe that he or she may genuinely be interested in this forum, but like I said, you can't tell. Either way, I do definitely see how it can give the wrong impression.

just my two cents. :thumb:

ILF doesn't fuck around
I guess this is the spam forum after all...who knows if he lurks.

I will say those prices are pretty crazy for a no-name plain box clone...you can get brand new vexter mastotron/ff/bor's for that price.

besides, there are cheaper zvex clones out there, and you can google for the schematics... BUT i guess he haves a right to answer all the things he has been subjectively called.

at first i thought "...hey, a new guy" before mongering war upon him.

zvex are overpriced, i bought a mammoth and loved it, then sold it to buy other stuff, and soon i will clone it for me.

and here is a guy trying to make a buck with piracy in a world-sized economy crisis, yes, he is totally lacking scruples, yes, he fell in the wrong place to sell his merch, yes, he should be breaking his head to come up with something designed by himself, but do we have to throw a witch hunt or get personal? [...] i recently read on the forum that aen based his euclaire thunder on the green russian with "some mods along the way"...

this IS a community, without any of us even met in real person, do we have to be xenophobes with cloners, pirates, and door to door sellers?

WE ARE CLONERS AND PIRATES y el que este libre de pecado que tire la primer piedra

well, if you're like me, you would never give z.vex a cent just because he's a jerkoff...
but if i were this dude, i would have used a different approach, that's for sure.

ZV is a cool guy... but place devi's bass fuzz at $135 vs the zvex mammoth at $350... different animals, but devi kicks fossilized elephantoid ass for way less.

zvex is overpriced, and by overpriced i mean the price-to-features ratio its clearly off balance. zvex can be cheaper, at least the ones without dancing leds. if you open one you can see its not a complicated mess and tons of parts and pieces. and please correct me if wrong but i kinda remember that zvex gets his guts soldered and assembled in china beacuse he couldnt keep up with production in the US, he just paints them here, thats why a few year back he had to place the CE compliancy symbol in the bottom plate for the production runs, because he has to import back the finished circuits. maybe all of this is gossip against zvex, i dunno, but if true, that means that somebody overseas is charging cents for building zvex, cheap enough for the circuit to travel around the world before being under our feet.

ps: as all the people that owns a BF know, it clearly reads "designed by mountainking" and the NoFi "escobedo inside"...

im not saying devi ripped those guys, its clearly that they got to an agreement, i dont think tim escobedo needs publicity... but im sure that mountainking electronics is getting to more people's sight because its name appears on a stompbox by a highly respected builder.

again, i think we are all clonners and pirates sometimes, maybe in more artistic words. i think john grierson was the one that said that "art is not a mirror, but a hammer" and if a boutique and highly priced stompbox deserves to be in a museum, i guess is good to keep it that away. im gonna clone mine, bleed some ears and give a meaning to its existance, because in reality its post recicled value can be more than some chinesse guy wage.

I wouldn't compare Aen to this dude...I never heard a green muff that does what the eau claire does.

I just want some sound clips. Saying your pedals will last 50 years and sound better is a pretty big thing to say without sound clips or even pics of the insides to show the craftsmanship that it would 50 years.

I don't think I'm being harsh at all.

Thing is, why would I buy a pedal from some guy I've never heard of?

It doesn't make any sense. Granted ZVEX pedals are overpriced (in my opinion), but at least with those I know I am getting a solid brand.
