Boss pedals appreciation thread

Fuggin love some of the Boss stuff! The DD-7, PH-2r, and CE-2 are incredible. The PH-2r is one of my all time favorite modulation pedals, could be my favorite phasor. And the BD-2 as a boost in front of a hot amp is killer.

Eventually some band is going to come along and use the SL-20 to its full potential (or at least in a super awesome way). Then everyone will be like, "WOAH I NEED ONE ASAP OMG CUM EVERYWHERE DER CHOPPY TONEZ".

I want one super bad, I've just never had the scrilla.

That band would be Health. I understand it's pretty key to their sound.

I like boss pedals, they're cheap, everywhere, and sound decent. I find the distortion and fuzz pedals to be hit or miss though, the DS-1 and HM-2 have a couple good tones, the ML-2 and turbo distortion are crap.

Edit: Whats ppl opinion on the RE-20?

I've loved many Boss pedals in my day - the PS-2, the DD-2 and 3, the HM-2, BF-2, etc.

My primary dirt box is a Boss rack - the venerable and overlooked GL-100 "Guitar Driver" that has basically all the 80s dirt boxes in one rackmount with radically improved EQ choices and channel switching. Everything from HM-2 with useful EQ to spitting silicon popping within an inch of its life in one box, and cheap, cheap, cheap.

I like the DSD-2 a lot! Also the DD-3 (MIJ) - but i sold that one some time ago. The DSD-2 is the same plus the sample function.

The RC-2 is my all time favorite looper for jamming around (alone). That bitch will stay forever. (BTW, the motherboard blew up once - but it was in the guarantee and i got it repaired - since that time no issues)

The DD-20 has the great ability to be BPM based looper. So i'm pretty depending on it untill i find a 3rd Lexicon Jamman.

I've currently got a CH-1 but would love to add a PH-3 and TR-2 to my board. Oh, I also have the AB-2 line selector which is super cheap but I got it for free so I can't complain. Don't like that it only runs on 3x AAA's but I'm planning on eventually building a converter to be able to power it off of my power supply.

i wouldnt want to live in a world without my DD7. I even like some aspects of the ME-50 I have (first multi effect i ever had). The reverb on it is awesome when cranked, the ring mod can add a nice octave sound to any of my fuzzes, and the compressor is real squishy. and having tap tempo for all the modulation is not a bad feature as well. As for Boss flavored dirt, the only experiences I have had with them have been pretty negative. The FZ-2 is supposed to be good I hear?

My BF-2 and RV-3 don't ever leave my board. Sometimes I think about it, but they always end up returning with a quickness.

Much love also for the HM-2, ODB-3 (love it or hate it!), SD-2, and the PW-2 that live at my house.

I've never liked a delay like my Boss DD5. It's just got its own quirks going on with the reverse and sample/hold. It's the oldest pedal I bought new and still own. I really liked the RC-20XL loopstation as well, it was crystal clear and I never had a problem with the stomp. I love the Boss stomp action.

Just put an FZ-2 on my board
