I think you just unsold me, of late fast moving CG and things that blow up don't have much of a impact on me any more, so if the writing isn't all that hot then I find it boring. The fist one had a lot on wince moments in it so if it is more of the same or worse I'll wait for DVD.

Hhehehe yeah it's probably best that you stay away from Michael Bay films in general if you don't like CGI action and are expecting decent writing.

Yea i'd agree with that, transformers good, optimus good, Lion doing the 80's cartoon film soundtrack good. Shitty jokes and appealing to a tween market badness... i'l still watch it cause i'm sure it's still decent but... I don't look forward to it like I did the first film, we already know optimus is prime out and out and just plain bad ass.

Are the 50 new transformers from the original like soundwave etc, just random robots from the 80's? Or are they new and made up by michael bay's crappiness?

Nonono there's no new made up ones that would suck obviously there's just a tone of classics with little roles like Sideways, Soundwave, Devastator, Jetfire, R.C., Side Swipe, etc.

I'll probably still see the 2nd one...but I'm not too excited.

I like explosions. I like dumb action movies. I actually like some Michael Bay movies (I think he's a hack, but I enjoyed the rock and the island).
I like robots. I loved the original transformers. I also watched beast wars which was 100% cheesy cgi. I even watched Shia when he was a kid in Even Stevens.
Yet for some reason I hated the first movie.

Not enough explosions, not enough robots fights, not enough jokes, not enough boobs...
it was sorta like a sampler at TGI Fridays, a little bit of everything, but not enough to be satisfying.

SMBH at analoguehaven? Now there is something to be excited about.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

Soundwave being a cassette will surely stick out in the 2000's... lol nah I like to see the 80's transformers, sucky new ones, I do not, which has ruined it a little more... I shall watch the 80's one this evening... then probably see transformers 2 and go.. meh not bad, atleast it has transformers in it and they kick ass, not an eliteist, just don't like things that have been aimed at a market especially a tweeny market.

Also you don't get better than transformers saying shit in an 80's children cartoon... don't get that now.

But this is all horribly off topic.
