dood on guitar was GOOD. it was really fun actually. he was more of a solo'y, bluesish, ROKK (not metal) kind of guy.... and when it was him starting stuff off it was a bit more Root Note Follow Along than i really dig, but he was doing some cool stuff when my drummer and i were playing more stuff the way we like it.

i realized.... i don't like.... following someone else's playing that much. i am GREEDY.

NAH... it depends. I bring material to the band and so do others. I may start playing root-fifth stuff for a minute if I immediately don't have something cool to throwdown, eventually I'll figure out something that interests me, even if it is really only rhythmically interesting. If that is the case I usually have something cool to play on the chorus or bridge, whatever. I don't get pigeonholed like that too often.
Although, I am probably rejoining my old Deathmetal band, the guitarist is a fucking beast of a player, so I don't know what that is going to look like since I have changed as a player the last 3 years. I mean I am cool doubling riffs but that isn't all that I want to do.

but for sure. i would LOVE to see what it sounded/felt like to play with the guitariat from the band i grew up in, that basically taught me... not everything i know.... but planted all the seeds that pushed me the way i like to play. i would be SO different if not for scary but awesome little gangsta Kao Saeyang. love that guy.

I was being tongue-in-cheek. I never use that term really. It is a butt-hurt bassist term.

When I joined Organ Harvester (love that name) I had pretty much not played bass in a long time. I had years of experience, but years of rust as well. So, I was pretty much hanging on for awhile. Eventually I was playing interesting lines that nailed main parts of the riffs, yet also moved in other ways. Now, I have been on my game for awhile, playing different genres though, so I have no clue how well I am going to fit. If not fuck it, I am not part of that band or the band changes a bit. I am sure I can still get BROOTAL.
