I was REALLY wondering about the B3K thing......through me for a loop.

SO....anyone want to listen to first world problems?

I was all jonesing for a Reeves Custom 225....which is like a really awesome high end boutique copy of the old Hiwatt amps. Pretty fucking groovy. So I figured I would buy a Mesa Bass 400+ for about $750 (nice price for these) to hold me over while saving for the Reeves. The Mesa is simply fucking amazing. I think it's all but extinguished my Reeves GAS. Anyways, Mesa has the new Strategy coming out that is 16 tubes just like the old Mesa Bass 400+s are. It has a pretty awesome feature where you could select it to only use 2 tubes at 60W instead of the 16 tubes at 300W which is perfect for me as I won't have to go out and buy a practice amp....I'm cool with the weight of this guy...just didn't want to waste tube life at home and low volumes. But the price tag on it is $2500......I could maybe sell this Bass 400+ for $800.....it's like....the man in me want to get the new Mesa Strategy....but is it really worth the extra $1700 to go from the 400+ to it.....? :idk:

Whether you keep the 400+ or get the new one..... it's gonna be a winner.

The new Mesa's are one of the only amps that give me masssssssive BONERZZZZ......ALL DAY LONG.

Can't wait to try one.

That's basically....but is it a $1700 more boner?

Fuck.

The thing is...if I keep the 400+....I want to find a practice amp because I don't want to keep using this massive 16 tube fucker on and off again at the house (is that smart?). And Mesa combo amps (I want to get a similar sound, to keep it similar from practice to live stage) are over a grand, anyways....so that Strategy being able to switch from 16 tubes to 2 negates me needing a practice amp and saves me a grand.....is that logic right?

Haha. It's like a want to justify it.....but I know I shouldn't.

Those things do give me massive boners.

That's exactly how I amassed my ungodly arsenal of shit.

Before I got my M9 Carbine, I was going to get the Titan V12. I had no issue with the higher cost (similar to the new ones) I just didn't need all the features.

I'm a HUUUGE Boogie lover, so if I was in your spot I'd wait to try the new kids on the block. To me, it's worth the money (if it delivers all you want and more)

but Boogie always delivers THA GOODS and then some.

So if I love the sound this 1982 Mesa is giving me, I should be able to get pretty much it from this new guy?

I guess that's what I'm looking for. I think I will be pulling the trigger. Wonder if I can get a Mesa Rep and get that price down, though. Haha.

Oohhh WHOA WHOA.......whoah.

Your Mesa is from 1982? I had no idea it came from that year. that year was a disaster for Mesa :( They had issues with all their parts suppliers. 90% of everything made in that year has failed.

I could take it off your hands......let's say $250 shipped?
