There's a few things that make me believe that, the big one being that my sister and I both vaguely remember them adding an extra year to their anniversary number when we were little. I was born in October, nine months prior would be New Year's (more or less), and they were married in late March. I've kind of been suspicious of it for a few years, but I've never dwelled on it until recently.

The idea kind of changes my image of my parents, and makes me a lot less angry at them for a lot of things. It also kind of affects my self view, which is weird, because I don't think it should.

I'm upset over the idea of being lied to over something like that, thus the post here. It's just speculation still, though. :?:

Same here. I put the pieces together when I was like, 13 maybe. My world crumbled apart, seeing them fight so often didn't help either. I felt like I was guilty for everything. Eh.
It's gonna be ok

I have a sister too, and she's awesome (when she's not being a brat  ), so I guess I'm glad she came along.

I have a friend with Asperger syndrome, and he knows physics so much it's god damn frightening O_o

the thing about the non-diagnostic online/print Asperger's tests is that they don't screen for other factors that can produce the same kinds of results; these can range from poor socialization to major depressive disorder and other non-autism-spectrum diagnoses. i took one of the online AS tests and scored in the 70th percentile yet have been evaluated by psychiatrists as non-AS.

another thought on the parents "having to get married": look at it this way: they didn't. you were born after Roe v. Wade. your mother could have aborted you without even notifying your father. that's the law. he could have bailed; he didn't. instead, they together chose to accept the responsibility to care for and nurture you, the child they created. the fact that they CHOSE to marry and raise you, when they could as easily have chosen to end your life before it began, is something to celebrate and to treasure.

I'm at a bar because a guy I had a class with this semester is playing tonight. There's less than ten other people here so far and all of them are olderish. Except one guy who I think said he is in Altos. But their playing a bunch of Leonard Cohen which is good if you're clinically depressed and want to stay that way, but not if its early on a Friday night.

So I'm sitting here alone except everyone sat all around me which is actually weirder than sitting in a corner alone. 20 minutesish until show time though so there's plenty of time for improvement.

I think I'm in the wrong bar. Why is there a riverwest pub AND a riverwest inn.

Edit: Yup wrong bar. I just spent $6 on a cover for nothing

@Dubkitty: I agree. It's not any kind of major identity crisis, or anything, just a feeling of :idk:

Does she also have an exquisite beard?

I actually have 3 younger sisters, haha. And they all do. :animal:

My parents always fought, too. I've always kind of felt like they were together out of some odd sense of duty, which reinforces my feelings. I don't feel guilty about anything, because it's their fault for doing whatever they did.

And my sisters are pretty awesome, when they aren't pissing me off to no end.

Know that feeling. I had lunch today with a friend who has already had a mastectomy for breast cancer in each breast, and tomorrow going to see a cousin who was just diagnosed with Lymphoma. Fuck cancer.

Was almost mistakenly arrested tonight. Was getting home from a movie, and after parking my car as I was starting to walk back to my apartment I was surrounded by cops and put up against my car and handcuffed. I guess I was dressed similar to someone they were after or something. They eventually let me go after running my license, searching me and my things, and questioning me for a while.
