honestly, its not that weird at all because they're still the person you know, but different in a way that is irrelevant to knowing someone or being friends with them.

i went to pittsburg to visit some friends who are trans who i knew before they came out, and honestly its no different

I had the advantage of meeting my bassist right as she was in the process of coming out.

Then I got her to trans from playing guitar to bass. And now I have a band!

I treat my friends differently based on their sex. It's how I grew up, I compete/fight with my male friends, white knight my girl friends. Transgender identities disrupt my indoctrinated attitude towards genders.

uh idk dude, imo its pretty messed up to treat people differently by gender in the first place, but probably Y gender in that case, because then you're acknowledging and respecting them at least according to your morals

No, but seriously, I really wish one of my reactions wasn't "Oh, I really have to avoid hearing anyone who likes the band after their recent success talk about this." The bolded part made me think you get it a lot more than you think.

If there were no difference between genders, then there really wouldn't be any point in being trans, right? It's just that some people would rather be treated as a gender that doesn't necessarily correspond to their sex.
