honestly, it's fugly and heavy and has the worst name but the verbzilla is pretty rad (until mine died after 2 years or so?). it's got a cave setting which is huge and dark, can go fully wet and has trails. DO IT
Yeah, I was going to suggest the Line6 M-series for the Cave setting as well. I've heard the Verbzilla uses different reverb algorithms than the M-series, but yeah, Cave is awesome.
the thing is, i am only ever gonna use two settings at most on a reverb pedal. i feel like it'd be silly to spend so much on something i will not fully utilize. i'd rather have something that does those two settings exceptionally well.
I'm just gonna throw this in for good measure......I can sometimes get a good "cave-y" tone by tweaking the tone on something, whether it's the fuzz or the reverb...I want a better reverb as well, but its a low priority (playing through a holy stain.....). IF you happen to have an Eau Claire Thunder, try cranking the tone ALL the way to the BASS side. Your high end notes shouldn't get too muddy, but that on its own sounds pretty damn huge, imo. Or some other muffy thing, cranked similarly might do the trick. Take this all with a grain of salt, though, because I might be translating "cave sound" as BIG sound.
I've got the biyang trireverb and it works perfect for my needs. Gets huge cavernous sounds to decent springiness, but also has a toggle which basically darkens the tone a ton. Check it out they're really cheap.
