As you can see it's a Matamp

And not just any Mat, It's a Matamp NEC ("new England classic"). Really rare if i understood it right
Image
I've only played it for 10 min or so today but tomorow i will try to crank it! :animal:

I finish it of with a family picture

Nice! I love Matamp. I've never heard of a New England Classic one, though. Still, they have been around for a long time and have even released a book with their history detailed, so it wouldn't surprise me to find out that there are loads of limited edition models lurking around the North of England and elsewhere around the world.

Do you know what model it's based on?

The nEC was a limited run they did around the turn of the century--actually a pretty recent amp as far as Matamp goes--though I never found out whether it was actually a Hiwatt clone or just an aesthetic homage.

Could try ringing the shop, of course. I'd do it, but I don't particularly fancy paying long distance.

I'd call but they must be sick of me by now. I have free calls to the UK! :hobbes:

Nice amp man. Is that preset knob the same as a voice switch?

We have similar taste in pedals too. My general setup is just a cranked doomidrive driving my matamp, with just a hair of dirt on the pedal.
Preamp about halfway. Occasionally a superfuzz for the nuttier bits.

I am really jealous you have a RD and a Melody Maker and a grabber/ripper.

Bonus points: Sparkly Laney w/ matching cab.

For shits: compare and contrast your Matamp with another, and make a video out of it.
