I'd be very interested in hearing how this works. Actually, I've got a longscale neck blank and a body blank laying around... maybe a longscale version? Although I wonder if the body would have to be prohibitively long for that. Hmmmmmm...
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

My take on the White eagle idea (just a prototype): A0

Its a semi-hollow body "jazzeagle". Its made from a cheap stratocaster I had laying around... so image the definitive model with jazzmaster pickups and a jaguar pickup behind the bridge. And I have to do a better stop-tail :P...
Its "intonated" the best I could with a screw...
But sounds ok!

That looks really lovely.
What kind of sounds are you getting from the behind-the-bridge pickup?

Wow that looks awesome!
And I guess If I make a bass version it will be a shortscale, or else the strings might be to short for the third bridge thing..
Some string sets are even to short for the white eagle..

You could always use extra long strings like the ampeg aeb-1 strings...

Circle K also makes some super long strings (like 40" scale) and would probably be able to hook you up with whatever kind of set you'd need. http://circlekstrings.com/store/index.html
This looks like a pretty awesome summer project, actually...
