Opinions on Schecter's Hellcat VI?

Post by gunslinger_burrito »

I've wanted one of these for a long time...I can't decide if the older one with the mini humbuckers and coil-tapping is cooler than the newer ones with the JAG style pickups.... Anyone played one? Owned one? Love or hate?

Nice! I've never played one of those but I'm a big fan of non-metal Schecters. I've had a c-1 semi-hollowbody for about five years now and its still the most comfortable guitar I've ever played.

Ive been wanting to get one with the mini humbuckers for ALONG time. Ive read that people consider the one with the Jag pickups to have closer sound to the bass VI without the trem. If you're into that, id get that one.

Me personally, I like the option of having both hum and single tones.

I had one, actually sold it to...someone on here I think? Wish I hadn't, since I could definitely use it now. A lot of fun. The mini-hums were a little on the weak side for my taste, I'd be interested to hear the Jag pickups.
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

I recently became interested in this series. It's like a normal guitar but tuned one octave lower (due to the thicker strings), right? Must sound killer with fuzz (then again, everything does).

Read, and noted. Glad to read a review, and also to hear some feedback about the Gretsch, which I've seen a few places....but never liked the sparkly finish. I like the "jag" shape of the Hellcat, but I've also looked at the ultra. Basically just looking for a weird bass-ish kind of instrument. But not quite a regular bass. And not uber-expensive.

Yeah, I was gonna say just wait until the Lakland 60-11 comes out. Until I got to this part:

I would like to publicly distance myself from my husband's opinion that the Ultra VI is less ugly than the Hellcat, cuz that is just crazy talk...

I don't even know how to respond to that.

You know damn well I think you are super hot, even if you do have shitty taste in instruments sometimes.
