Re: Which Devi?
If you play more leads go with the Hyperion... if you want more low end but can make do with a bit of a muddy top end go with the Soda Meiser. I had a Hyperion and sold it (thought it was a bit harsh and brittle sounding) but really love my Soda Meiser.

Re: Which Devi?
I think the Hyperion is for me. I need the highs to cut through and it sounds perfect.
It's an all-out sludge affair for rhythm at lower settings and an sub-modulated octave disaster for leads at more extreme settings. Definitely my cup of tea..
Thanks for the help people! Last note: anyone pushing for a Paul Trombetta Mini-Bone instead?

If it'sgot to be a small pedal... VFM cuts through, and TP and Ruby should have the boom and the bite I understood You are after.Aenima and SM are great pedals, too. Aenima!
Buy a SHOEGAZER
if You're into normal guitar sounds and want to just bring some more radical stuff into the sound without going all crazy.
Or if You're after a setup that says FUCK YOU ALL, unlike anything else, go for SPAE, really. Angry fuzz-tortion. Pretty versatile too, not just rude and crazy angry. And incredibly loud, too, so beware. I've understood many who have bought the SPAE have ended up with bandmates saying it's just way too much. Which is good. You need friends like that in life and in bands, honest to the point of being rude when necessary, like SPAE, forcing people to show their real opinions so You can decide if You're in the right company.
Oh, and then there are the Manglers. And TBD.

I'm gonna go with either the Soda Meiser or Hyperion.
The SM is darker sounding, and the hype is brighter and clearer.
If you're willing to bump up the size, the Shoegazer would probably be even better for you.

You should just get both
I really enjoyed the SM while I had it, and I really like the Hyperion when I tried it. The Mini-Bone is supposed to great, but it is twice the price.- Bassus Sanguinis

yep, it's a super tweakable Aenima with the Silver Crank/33 stacking to it behind flip of a switch. Controls for pre-gain, mid-gain, and post-gain, volume and feedback loop volume. Crazy fun. And angry as hell.

Don't mind price! I'd rather spend in one shot than go in circles before settling on the initial pedal I wanted but didn't consider due to price.
I would love the Shoegazer but space is of concern to me. In indie/textural-ambient there's little room for fuzz so I allocate that one slot for it. If I had enough space for a Shoegazer I'd rather get a fuzz and another reverb (pre-drives).
Been impressed with the Hyperion videos I've seen. Are they a good representative of the sound? Cause the PGS one has a different timbre from the rest (probably due to their recording setup).

Re: Which Devi?
The PGS demo was the most accurate demo I've seen in comparison to when I owned a Hype. So, if you dig that, then cool!

Why not? Ambient just means lots of delay.

I can vouch for the shoegazer, it's pretty much been the meat and potatoes of my guitar sound for a while. It can get pretty crazy when you engage both fuzzes too, not sure if it's got all the bottom end your looking for though
