Ummm, yeah, here's a vote for the Eventide PitchFactor. It's like a killer pitch shifter with crazy arpeggiators. Lots of creative possibilities. The EXP pedal really makes it shine!

An expression pedal and an aux footswitch (this1smyne makes nice/cheap ones) are must haves. Huge pitchfactor vote...an amazing tool that has paid for itself a dozen times over.
yeah i'm thinking the pitchfactor is what i want, but don't have funds at the moment. Might pick up a whammy in the mean time, i've always sort of wanted one so even if it doesn't work out i can get that out of my system at least.
i picked up an earthquaker devices organizer recently and its my first foray into the territory of pitchshifting, octave generating etc etc. but i've got a few questions and figured y'all could help me out.
1. what's the main difference between a pitchshifter, like the mooer pitchbox, and a polyphonic octave generator, such as the micropog or zcat poly-octaver??
2. what are the best (or your personal favorite) pitch/octave toys?
3. do any of you have more than one pitch/octave device? is that just a bad idea?
1. you octavers always add octave above/below. in pitchshifter like mooer you can choose interval of the pitch. pitchshifters also have detune and other tasty options. 2. pitchfactor all the way. 3. i badly want second pitchfactor to put one in the beginning of the chain for whammy and arpeggios and second in the end for harmonizing/detuning/delays. not gonna happen though.
The EHX Ring Thing does a lot of neat stuff in this vein. With an expression pedal, it does whammy. It does pitch shift. It does outlandish sounds. The presets make it pretty useable with a variety of sounds.
