I concur.

I always prefer to tune down to C if the strings can take it.

Isn't that basically open D but everything down a step? What's it matter other than some lower tones?

I really like standard but tune the B string down a step. So you got EADGAE. Makes standard barre chords sound pretty nice as well as some other stuff. And it's easy to tune back to standard!

Yep. Maintains the same intervals, but I like the sound of C better than D. Try it for yourself.

Well, yeah, because they're both open timings for major chords, which all have same intervals in them, root-maj3rd-5th. But I just love playing in C. Probably because A:) it's a little heavier without being ridiculous, and B:) I learned music in a more classical context, where C is the key where you always start out.

Randomly tuned my guitar to B-F#-B-D-F#-C# and it's quite fun.

I'd recommend trying it out, or DADFAE to keep it in a more "normal" guitar range.
But, you know, it probably sounds better lower

So many tunings.lol I'm going to have to come back and try these.
Heavenly sounds, grating gates; driving cars through surreal fates.

Might have to try. I have a strat close enough to the low tuning to give it a spin.

Try DADFAG.

Preferred tuning of latent homosexual dads everywhere.
