I agree 100%. My mother still is trying to invent reasons that make sense to her for why I am "being this way". Her latest one was that I was always such a sensitive boy and must be getting a sex change because I don't feel like I could be taken seriously being a sensitive guy.

Devi just out of interest I remember a while back on the front page you mentioned your costs coming to a total of $40,000.

That's for facial surgery. I'm getting my SRS done for around a total of $14k which includes plane ticket, misc. expenses, and taking care of bills and such while I'm gone for a month.

Man, that does suck. I don't suppose I could convince you to cut back a bit? What exactly do you think you need done? If I'm deadly honest I think you need your chin done a bit and that's about it. You're lucky you don't have as stern a jawline as I do(or the huge shoulders) at least. $40,000 comes off as an awful lot even for FFS. I know you've probably thought about it a lot, but maybe you can do with a view from another Trans person. You'd be surprised how much minor changes can make a difference - you can always go back for more if you really need to, it'd suck, but it wouldn't be the end of the world and there'd be a little less recovery involved.

I always hate the "Oh well Sam is dead, but Samantha is my new daughter" approach the few tolerant parents seem to have, that's ridiculous. Nobody's died or even completely reinvented themselves, they're just being more honest with who they are and going along that path to avoid being completely miserable.

I always love that kind of reasoning. My favourite is that "Oh you fail so much with girls, you have to be one instead". It makes such perfect logic in their heads.

True story. I had a run-in with him online ages ago ("america online" ages ago) and he sent me a cease and desist for wanting to create a fan t-shirt of which the proceeds were going to help save a local comic book store.

Wow really? If that happened to me I'd hate the guy's stuff, definitely wouldn't take my name form it though names can be fickle like that. I'd love to know how you resolved that internally.

I don't know where he gets his money though, so I can see why he did it. Nick own all the rights to everything Zim forever, he got nothing past when he was working for them. But he should just you know, write more comics instead of taking it out on the little guy... Lazy bum.
