Re: Alternative Tunings
i've been meaning to try alternate tunings but never really knew where to start (due to a deep seated laziness). So thanks!

Tried this, sounds pretty cool.

I'm having a hard time getting my low e to a d. Besides that I'm good.

Im using a Korg GA-1 and no matter how much I lower the string it's not hitting D.

See the button that says "flat"? Hit that twice, which will lower the note it tunes to by a whole step, and tune again.
Then you should be good to go.

I'm in Standard Aen, I'm gunna tune it down later today. But yeah it sounds as dark as Hell itself already.lol I love it. I think Aen is my new favorite. I gotta hear it half step down though.

Re: Alternative Tunings
GCDGCD - Csus 2 with a G Bass note
is pretty rad
DADAAD- Like DADGAD but just a set of D and A Root 5th Pairs
EADGAE - Almost like standard but your major barre chords turn into ADD 11 on the E string and Sus 2 on the A string. (this is my new standard tuning)
EADGBbD - Mission of Burma's Academy Fight Song tuning. Standard up top but instead of an Eminor drone on the high strings you get a Gminor. Really fun tuning

Very much an open-tuning vibe. Most open tunings I've tried sound very pretty to me.
But I have only tried 3-4 of them, so I'm by no means an expert.
I usually like using minor/dissonant sounds and I usually stray away from that with open tunings because of how easy it is to make them sound consonant. It's not impossible to get minor/dissonant sounds, but it's hard for me to do sometimes. I probably haven't spent enough time with any alternate tuning to give them a fair assessment, though. I'm still finding new things I like about standard tuning.

I should try something like this. I primarily use the low strings so having the high strings for a more drone-like purpose would be cool. Thanks
