Ok, so I bought this guy (1x15/1x10 w/ horn):

Uh so what does the horn really do? I just thought it looked cool.

and played a silverface Bassman 50 head at a shop in madison today. The guy wants $500 for it (he has two). Once I get the money I'm totally getting that. Then I can even get a cheap short-scale bass to rock out for certain songs. That would be so perfect for my post-punk band.

sadly, I will have to trade my carvin head for a screaming Bird and some much needed cash tomorrow.

isn't the Bassman fucking awesome?

Hells yeah! The guy at the store was pumped that I was already planning on playing through the 1510.

I'm just going GAS crazy lately.

Yea, the dual use bass/guitar combo as long as you're aware you're not going to be Lemmy on bass with just a Bassman (it's not an *ideal* bass amp), you'll do just fine.

I used to keep a bass plugged in to the third input on the Space Echo so I could swap instruments as the improv demanded, it was a very nice thing.

Ok, I put up a Craigslist ad and now I'm about to talk to a guy from a store about selling the Carvin MTS3200 head, and I have a friend who is interested.

How much should I ask? $250 with $200 as a low? I think I bought it for around $280.

Yeah, so I got a guy who is interested, we just need to coordinate meeting up somewhere later today.

This is kinda my first Craigslist Transaction so I'm slightly unsure about etiquette. Do I finalize the price and make sure he's paying cash or something next time I talk on the phone before we head out to meet?

Usually you just like...meet somewhere and he gives you a previously agreed upon amount of cash.

Sale anxieties turned out not to be a problem. Netted $200 which means I can pay some bills, buy some pot, and put a little bit towards the new amp fund.

As soon as I get that tax return (I know I've been saying this for weeks now), that Bassman 50 is mine. :)

i fucking love tax returns. and the Bassman is more than useful enough to be a practice bass amp. I almost bought a Bassman 10 strictly for that reason. I kinda wish i got that fucker
