urrrrrr...... it annoys me that they have this huge budget for R&D and get like 60% through what a final product should be before they start making ass loads of them. then anything that IS kind of cool feels like it was designed by somebody that's never played live in their life. THEN they skimp on the quality control so they have hellza buggy units. THEN THEY MAKE PEDALS THAT ARE 4 TIMES LARGER THAN THEY HAVE TO BE WITH SOME WEIRD FUNKY POWER SUPPLY AND A SHITTY BYPASS AND PUT GAWD AWFUL UGLY ASS GRAPHICS ON THEM AND WHEN YOU GO INTO A STORE YOU GET TO SEE 14 FUCKING SHIT ASS MUFFS CROWDING OUT GOOD BUILDERS WITH GOOD PRODUCTS.

also, being mediocre on bass to offset my complete inability to play any other instruments.... i've only used their stuff on bass. maybe it's better for guitarists? dunno. but fuck 'em. hell, BUTT-fuck 'em. too many good builders out there to settle on their jankety crud.

I've enjoyed all the EHX pedals I've had, but tellingly I don't have any anymore. Never experienced bad quality or excessive noise, but I've always found other pedals that are better. For example, I really wanted to like the polyphase because it has incredible features that more phasers should have, but the sound just wasn't very good and there's no getting past that. And that sort of thing where one aspect lets the pedal down seems to be a problem with a lot of their line. :idk:

I still have a few EHX pedals (Flanger Hoax, Bass Microsynth, Deluxe Memory Boy and Stereo Electric Mistress), and they are so integral to a few of my songs, that it would be extremely hard to get rid of them, unless I find something that can EXACTLY cop the same tone.

The only one that I'm sure could be replaced by something else is the DMB, but I would need to find another analog delay with exp control of feedback, for less money than the DMB cost me.

But I'm not one of those guys that wants YOU to like them, I'll just keep liking my 4 EHX pedals and be happy with that.

Man, is it weird if I've had like three different memory boy variants? I've had two mem toys, and now I have a memory boy. It's just what I want a delay to sound like.

Also, I miss all my cool EHX stuff. I used to have an Electric Mistress, a Floax, and a microsynth. Much regret.

monkeydancer I'm surprised you say you've never experienced quality issues with them because the switch was broken on the smmh that I sold you.

I've never had any problems with noise or crappy bypass signals though. I've loved all my EHX pedals :idk:

A lot of good points ^

My prob with EHX is like some of what has been said which boils down to everything they make has a quirk.. and either it gets in your way or it doesn't be it sound, build QC, looks[?] ect.. It's like that get to a point where it's almost there and they go "ok that's good enough.." and stop :idk: I mean I love my old Sovtek muff and would never sell the thing because it records so well but.. live I HAVE NEVR GOT THAT THING TO WORK OUT! AND I BOUGHT IT NEW! :idk: :idk: :idk: :idk: :idk: :idk:

  COMPLETELY forgot about that! Probably because I bought it faulty it didn't register earlier. I'm willing to overlook a switch going bad though, it's not like they make those in-house and the pedal worked perfectly when I replaced it.

I think EHX has a lot to bring to the table and some good ideas, but yeah sometimes they just have some problems. It's definitely a risk trying out their stuff.

Still want to get a Cathedral again. Shit is awesome.

The only EHX pedals I have any beef with is their dirt.
There are things out there that can do sooo much more.
The rest of their stuff is pretty cool.
I think the quirks are kinda cool, if you're lucky enough to get a good one.......
