I like what the word "minimalist" means to this site.

i use tuner > od > fuzz > delay. i've been using a dan-echo, modded to self oscillate, along with my SDD so i can make weird noises with one and use the other for normal delay. i don't know how cool it really is, but i have fun with it.

for me the DOD is essential!

(and a fuzz for sure - i really like a normal Algal Bloom on bass)

I just got a barely used DOD in trade. Never understood why bassists loved that pedal so much, but I get it now.
I like the comp > OD/Fuzz > Filter > Trem/Delay routine myself, even though I'm doing something else on my board currently.

I'm thinking (she prefers the 'color' black so that's probably a slight influence on the choices);
Tuner (Korg Pitchblack - It's black, cheap, reliable, apparently does bass well).
Compressor (Reading some great things about the Empress and also the Diamond Bass Comp, the latter I would re-finish).
Dirt/Fuzz (Perhaps the black Elements, or maybe bug SS/BS for a custom-finish TAFM).
Chorus (No idea, I'm liking my Sea Machine but I haven't tried it on bass yet).
Ring modulation
bass friendly wah or a filter of sort
more fuzz to stack with fuzz

I could do everything I need to with Octave>Fuzz>Filter
If I had to pick a fourth it would probably be an overdrive.

This is relevant to my interests! I'm working on this myself....thinking filter..octave fuzz..modulation? Any advice on fx order?

I had a DOD Fx25 and thought it sounded like shit. Probably one of the worst filters I've tried. Seriously. I don't get it.

Elements is one of my TOP choices for a swiss army knife of dirt. Fantastic little pedal, 3 band EQ, top-mounted jacks, various clipping....just fuckign RAWKS.
TC Polytune, Pitchblack or other reliable tuner is a must.
GNI Phaser/flanger is an AWESOME 2-in-1 pedal for a small board. I love mine, separate phaser, flanger, or use them together.
REALLY like the Keeley 4 knobber for compressor.

If you're a filter fan.... throw in a 3leaf Proton for a great funk sound. Also the Iron Ether Xero. Both are small footprint.
