as the result of this discussion i moved stuff around on the board, mostly to try and change the order of the dirt pedals so the ones more sensitive to signal quality are closer to the front and to try the tuner-at-the-end thing. the old-school fuzz, the Tone Reaper and Sound Shank, are much happier running earlier in the chain, and the 3-knob Great Wall also seems to like having fewer things ahead of it. the D+ and Algal Bloom are stable and happy anywhere...i wish i was as well adjusted. i also put the Velcroar at the end, just before the compressor and tuner, where it does a really impressive job of destroying everything that comes through it. fuzz->delay->synchronized trem->filter->reverb->mod->fuzz FTW. i don't know if the tuner at the end is going to stick, though...it makes an annoying click when i turn it off.

This is a cool thread! I'm definitely going to try reverb pre-distortion. Where would you dudes put a Second voice in relation to fuzz? Or do they not play nice?

the thing i love about board-configuration threads is that they make me think about the boxes and how they interact with each other separate from my style of playing. i've been playing for long enough that it's simple for me to configure shit to get what i'll refer to as "standard boring rock noises" i.e. stuff i'd play on relatively normal music; the ideas folks come up with here help me find arrangements that let me find new weird sounds while still being able to sound fairly normal when i want to. the latest setup allows me to run a fuzz->trem->filter->verb->flanger->fuzz sequence that sounds like an analog sequencer being kicked around in a dumpster, but i can go right to a 1950s Huey P. Meaux Louisiana tremolo-and-OD with five seconds of switch tapping and trem knob twiddling.

i usually have my second voice near the front of my chain it does play pretty nice with fuzz

currently when it is on the board is is right after my tone reaper but before my fuzz war seems to tuck in nicely there.

I know logically I should just try before/after fuzz myself once the pedal turns up in the mail, but my board is really tight on space at the moment and I can't be bothered redoing everything! So thanks dude!
