It really is a great album, but I'd argue Badmotorfinger is better. Soundgarden was the first band I ever got into as Superunknown dropped right around the time I got my first CD player. About 5 years after really started paying more attention to Badmotorfinger and ever since then it's been one of my favorite albums. Its probably the "heaviest" album that I like as I'm more of an indie rock type of guy.

Tool, never made much of an impression on me, I get why people dig it, but it kind of bores me

i noticed i was paying $70 a month instead of the $40 i used to. turns out i had a promotion, that they didna tell me i was on, that ran out. went to the next lowest tier of high speed..... they TOLD me it was 4 mbps down and 1 mpbs up. trying to load this Bit demo thing and YT gave me an estimated time of 163 minutes. on a SEVEN MINUTE VIDEO. i used to do those in like 15 minutes. called Comcast, tech said, "uh....... that's normal. you're paying for .3 mpbs up. that's like...... dial up speeds.".

billing is already closed, so i have no one to vent my ANGER at. fucking lying carpetbagging whore slut dildo sheathing cunt leakage.

oh! look! only 121 more minutes! fucking ridic. i'm going to bed.

yah. they've actually been ok to deal with, hence staying with them for the last 3 years. plus, AT&T needs to run a phone line into my house, which was a BITCH last time. different section of AT&T because i don't have phone service here (who does anymore though? a home phone? unless you're a bidness that seems silly.)........ problems every few months.

I still have a hard-wired phone here, partly for DSL and partly 'cause calling 911 on a cell routs you straight to the Calif. Highway Patrol and not the local emergency services - a land-line will automatically pop up the address you are calling from on the dispatcher's screen. That info can save some possibly VERY important time if/when help is needed.

And speaking of DSL...mine is thru AT&T @ $14.95/month for 3 MB up-speed (includes free hardware, but also include a one-time setup fee of around $90.00 or so); that is generically listed as being a $35.00 monthly charge, but they do the $14.95 for a year as a promo to get you to go w/them. After one year, the price is supposed to go from $14.95 up to the $35.00 charge. BUT...each year, I've been able to get AT&T to simply renew my 'new subscriber only' pricing - the woman @ AT&T who set up my DSL account originally told me that this is what their employees do all the time, and can do for customers as well IF they know to ask about it. Might be worth checking out...

yah. i'm going to call in a bit and badger Comcast, and fucking YELL at a supervisor for being lied to, will definitely use the AT&T offer as a stick.

i just had CRAP service and loads of issues when i had AT&T last. it seemed to all stem from not having a land line. seems like they'd have a decent workaround for that now. you gots some valid points on having a phone line, SMARTIE, but so many people i know don't so they SHOULD be used to that situation.

Something else worth noting about cable hi-speed* is that while they will claim fast up-speeds, the actual speed you get at any given moment will depend on how many others are on the same cable as you are; the more people in front of you on the cable and on-line + the further down the line you physically are on the cable = the less overall up-speed you get. People at the head of the line get the best overall speed.


* this definitely used to be true a few years ago, and as far as I'm aware is still the case - I know that's the case with my mom's cable 'net connection.

Forgot something...an update on my current fave ads over @ TB;

- Mr. NOS Grover Tuners Guy is still trying to off them at the now-reduced price of $450...such a deal.

- and this guy's ad has now run to 4 pages and over a month on the board, mostly consisting of his asking for more and more trade offers (which he ignores, AFAICT) and bumping the ad. I'm SO tempted to ask him if he ever intends to make a decision, or will he just keep stringing it along until the end of the universe arrives.
