my position is that there are pedals i'd happily drop $300 on, but Strymon doesn't make any of them. this has nothing to do with Strymon's perceived TGP customer base; i don't get a number of pedals that are widely beloved on ILF either. my sole criterion for whether i like a pedal is, does it sound good to me? i was totally underwhelmed when the Flint concept was revealed; now i'm slightly whelmed. as i said above, i like the tremolo, but i find the reverbs boring as hell. there are way better spring reverb sims out there, the plate is worse than an RV-3 and nowhere close to a Ghost Echo, and the "80s" setting is an AWFUL faux SPX90. for that kind of dosh i want better reverbs than that.

i disagree. Strymon makes great stuff. there's tons of Timelines/El Caps/etc. on here, regardless of what the TGP crowd has to say about it. but there are certain pedals that people would happily shell out $300 for, and this just doesn't seem to be one of them.

yah. i give a fuck who likes something, either way. i'm AMAZED at the TimeLine. Sousie's fault for letting me borrow one forever, Jean was raving about them way before i saw them catch on to so many boards. who cares if idiots like something if it sounds good? or hate it but sounds good?

i've only used the TL but it's neverrrrrrrrrrrrr leaving. thing is a BEAST.

That's just silly. If something sounds great and will fit my needs well, I'm sure not going let the fact that some douche bags also love it keep me from purchasing it.

True. Unfortunately, it's what makes us "artists".

According to the Strymon website you can with this pedal... it says "Tap Subdivision acts as a four-position switch to change the tap subdivision when using an external tap pedal. Change from sixteenth, triplet, eight and quarter.' :idk:

You use an external tap tempo to set the tap time. The secondary function knob let's you set that external tap as a triplet, quarter, eighth etc. so each time you press you get triplet, quarter etc. - what Behndy wants is to set subdivison to an expression pedal. So as he moves the expression pedal up and down the tempo divides, doubles, etc. - This is what the Iron Ether Cygnet did and not what the Flint will do.

And regarding the TGP crowd going apeshit (disclaimer: I post there and on talkbass) I don't really care what anybody thinks about my choice in pedals - boss, strymon, dod, whatever - if it fits what I need, I'm game.

i want the phrase "Middle ONE" to over take "High Five". i want that SO BAD.

..... a Middle One is when you go for a chest bump but you've got your wiener tasting air and give a meaty thunking slap to the dood's peener that you're sharing a congratulatory moment with.

MIDDLE ONE!! COCK NUZZLES!!!

What's funny is this thread proved the success of Strymons marketing abilities. The fact that we "have a place" on Strymon and are willing to prove our disdain or justification for purchase is seriously comical. This thread has reached the TGP heights.

Totally wasn't interested when I heard it was a trem/verb, but those sound clips are pretty cool, especially the reverb->trem stuff, I'd never thought about that combination in that order, but it's sweet. I'd still rather have separate trem and verb pedals though. :idk:

And I don't really get all the hate, who cares who likes strymon pedals or how much idiots try to sell them for on ebay? They make pedals with nice sounds and I dunno why people dislike them for that.
