DIY shoegaze/dream pop
Anybody recommend any DIY shoegaze/dream pop artists?
A friend of mine recently introduced me to this one; http://www.facebook.com/LeRecourderLarouge
The fuzz guitar in Le Recourder Larouge is pretty sick as well.

He has been warned. Leaving this thread open just in case he is at all legitimately interested in participating on this forum, deleted the rest.

Yeah. People posted some stuff on that thread that I also liked and wanted to check out more of. My roots are in metal so I'm curious to hear any shoegaze with a little more "kick" in it so I started a thread where people can post suggestions for "heavier" shoegaze artists, which people did contributed to.
As for DIY shoegazers, unbeknownst to me (until recently) there has actually been a growing "movement" of DIY shoegaze artists. Some examples of DIY shoegazers that I recently got introduced to are; The Telewire, Toma, Daydrop, and Public Transport. As I mentioned earlier in this DIY shoegazer thread, a friend of mine recently introduced me to LRL (who is a DIY shoegazer that I've taken a strong liking to) and that sparked my initial interest in DIY shoegaze. I created this thread to learn of more DIY shoegazers.
But as was publicly pointed out here, I've been warned about these illegitimate contributions to this forum.
To avoid any further issues I'll just leave it at that.

DIY = Do It Yourself
Individuals who write all the music themselves, play it themselves, and possibly engineer and produce it themselves. Some even go as far as creating their own logos, album artwork, merchandise, etc., all on their own. Everything or most of everything is self-produced.
Sort of like Trent Reznor.
I didn't know there was a wealth of DIY artists. A lot of it sounds like a full band or is written and arranged to sound like a full band but it is all actually one person. Like Toma, who exhibits some shoegaze influences along with post-rock influences. Toma's sound is so expansive and rich, it's hard to believe it's all done by just one person. It's very potent and emotional stuff. I was pretty blown away. If you like Sigur Rós you might enjoy Toma.
