Seriously though. I love both forms of guitar and bass, although I can't play a fucking guitar to save my life. Damn things have too many strings and such. You know.

I'm never happy with anything musical because I'm overly critical of myself. So yea. I'm never going to love anything. Well until I flip all of my gear for a Wal and just play it through a 30 dollar amp because I won't be able to afford anything else.

I'm pretty happy with my P-Bass but I haven't played a ton of different basses so I'm still keeping my eye out for something. Once I stop buying effects and can actually affor something I should say...

Played tons of basses, still think a p bass is the best out there. Feels the best, sounds the fattest, one pickup, simple passive controls. Why would anyone want anything else?

My Lakland Duck Dunn is the best bass ive ever played, i love it, dont want anything else, dont think i ever will

I prefer jazzes just because I like the sound more. The thin necks are legit too. I will still end up getting a P at some point because they're rad as hell, but while I can only afford one bass it'll be a jazz.


On that note, I've been thinking about getting a new bass over the last month, but yesterday I played my MIM jazz bass for the first time in weeks and I don't know why I would. Maybe get a new bridge/pickups for it, but a whole new bass? meh.

i learned proper bass playing on a fretless Jazz Bass, so even though it's way disproportionate to my body size (it's big, i'm tiny enough that i have to be careful how i wear it so i can reach the low F) nothing else sounds right to me.

Yea that's pretty much true. But! The ones that do are amazing! I've found plenty of great fuzzes that play well with actives. Of course it's a guessing game, which cause me to flip shit a lot. I'm a pedal whore though, so no biggie.

Bass- Yes. I don't know how anything could ever beat my Mustang bass. UNless it was a glorious old mustang bass, but thats just cosmetic. I have a jazz bass too, in the event that I need a brighter bass tone.

Guitars - Yes, totally happpy with my current arsenal. But also need seveeral more all the time no matter what. Sickness.

I feel exactly the same way on both counts. I got rid of all my other basses after I got my Mustang. I might buy a cheap P bass again one day (if I find myself playing in a group that tunes down or something), but otherwise - Mustang bass, all day every day.

And yeah, I love my dumb guitars, but still want MOAR. I still really want a baller Telemaster and a baller Strat - those are probably next. or maybe a Johnny Marr Jag.

the fact that I'm not buying/selling/trading pedals as much anymore has lead to lots of guitar buying/trading action lately, and I'm totally okay with that.

I'm pretty well stuck on my Mustang bass, as well.
I'm also very happy with my '64 Jazzmaster and '80 Les Paul Custom combo.
The only thing I really want to add is a 335 (and get rid of a bunch of stuff).

I need new strings and a proper setup on my T-40 but the sound of it is SEXY! I have a little gas for a hollow bass but it will be a while before I can afford a white falcon.
