Maestro PS-1

Post by nieh »

What can you tell me about the Maestro PS-1 Phase Shifter? Picked one up for $30 from some shop we drove by. Didn't have the footswitch,

How much is it worth? can I ditch the chord and add a boss style adapter? Can I add a footswitch, or is it best to true bypass loop it?

I believe that Eatyourguitar fixed one of those up for an ILFer. Should be chronicled in DIY, though I don't think he went into technical deets. If nothing else, though, you could ask him about it and he'd probably give you the low-down.

You've got to be kidding?! Those are amazing. Don't mod it please. $30? That's the deal of the decade.

The end of the power chord shorts out, thats the only reason I wanted to mod it for an adapter.

Just replace the power cord and thank your lucky stars :thumb:
I love those things, and they're pretty bombproof -- dead easy to calibrate too.

You might be able to get something like a charge pump going where 9v is boosted up if the voltage demands are low enough, but that might not work if the current demands exceed the given voltage-doubler chip's specs. The DIY forum is probably the place to be asking.

Can I replace it? I would be content with that.

Is it just the plug that is shorting out? Or is it the cord itself?
