You ever get that warm fuzzy feeling?

Post by skullservant »

As most of you know, I've been clinging to B/S/T like it's my own flesh and blood, on the hunt for the perfect mix of pedals. So today I was sitting around, and I've been trying, for the longest time, just to be HAPPY, with the pedals that I've got. Right now I'm without a delay (TimeLine is in the mail), and without a Reverb (RV-5 Shimmeries is shipping tomorrow), so I set up my board with a configuration that I've been working with in several variations since December:

EB VPJr -> Korg Pitch Black -> EQD Tone Reaper -> Sovtek V1 Big Muff -> SHO Clone.

I played with it for an hour. And it just felt GOOD. I felt GOOD knowing that the TimeLine and RV-5 were coming, because I know they are the missing link. It just feels like I've conquered some sort of mountain or something.

Not to say that I won't suffer from GAS in the future, but goddamn. It feels good.

Anyone else ever get that feeling?

i almost get that feeling every now and again, but i don't have a nice amp to make my pedals really sing. i tend to go through pedals rather quickly because of this.

I went through a similar situation last year. I was using my Acoustic 200h as my main head, but I really wanted to be able to push tubes. Honestly, Peavey heads are fucking terrifying and I really think you'd dig one if you could find it. I bought my Rock Master because it had a distortion channel, but in all honesty it sounds so good just being pushed by pedals.

Yeah this has been me as of the latest revision of my board. I'm gonna get a v2 Small Stone and possibly keep both that and my v4 or decide which I prefer and sell one. Other than that, the only thing I'd really think about adding is a DMM or something but I could totally live with my board how it is forevahh.

I just slimmed my 30 pedal rig to about 15 or so...

I am also going to probably slim it down a few more pedals...

because I discovered I'm a mainly dirt-delay kind of guy.

the feedback loop will always be a part of my rig... so I will always have a few pedals in the loop...

but as far as guitar goes, I'm REALLY happy with where I am right now...

and also, congrats, sir!

I've put myself on a gear moratorium until at least August. This ONLY involves purchasing, so I MAY be around in the trade arena until then :)

When i get a new fuzz pedal i normally just go guitar - pedal - amp and leave everything else beside. I love playing like that. And that is always the point where i realize which pedals work for me and which not...
