I like Gish, Siamese Dream, and Pisces Iscariot more than MCIS.

My favourite Pumpkins album changes all the time (On a Siamese Dream kick right now - listening to "Soma" A FUCKING LOT), but I still admire the sheer audacity of Billy Corgan releasing a double CD as a third album. MCIS is also the first Pumpkins album I bought when I finally "got" them enough to check them out, so it's special to me in that regard.

As for NCIS, my mother watches it, i tend not to unless I happen to be in the same room at the time.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

MCIS is one of the greatest albums ever.

I can understand Siamese dream being one's favorite but for me it doesn't end well. Mellon Collie's songs and the order they are in is absolutely wonderful. Pisces Iscariot and TAFH I believe though has some of their coolest songs, but Mellon Collie delivers everything I'd ever want in an album.

I too, am on a Siamese Dream kick... Hummer happens to be my favourite song in the world right now. OMFG the octave riff...

MCIS was given to me on double cassette for my 11th birthday. At first the overbearing fuzz horrified me, but soon it grew into one of the albums that shaped my taste in music, thus ultimately my life's path. You can't compare it to any other pumpkins work..In my opinion there is early pumpkins, and there is later pumpkins, and there is that album. Don't get me wrong, i love all of the albums and see monumental differences, but on a very basic level this is a way i feel you can classify them.

It has some of the most beautiful, monumental moments i could ever ask for in pop music, and the next song could be the most fucking pissed off fuzz dirge i've ever heard.

Not to mention, those fuzz dirges are probably the rawest, sloppiest, most organic sounding pumpkins non-live recordings to that time IMO.. They're just nasty.

It's a perfect record. It really is. If the pumpkins don't get inducted into the rock'n'roll hall of fame when they can be, i'm gonna be fucking pissed. MCIS deserves it.

Muzzle
I've got a fuzzbox and i'm not afraid to use it

Hummer is a gorgeous song. I used to have a video of the Pumpkins before they got huge playing in some crowded dingy old basement. They had like a 12 minute version of Hummer and it was surreal. toansz.
well i guess, but i just don't know.

For my dollar bills it's Siamese Dream all the way. I'm probably the only person I know that will still crank "Today" if it comes on the radio.

And I'm pretty sure my dad watches NCIS exclusively. It's like catnip for him.

MCIS is my favorite album, of all time.
It has moved me in ways, and made me travel to places like no other record ever did.

My sentiment exactly. My band is pretty shoegaze, and we kind of stick to the general "wall of sound" idea. but every once and awhile, we will work on a song that doesn't have that aesthetic and I always think, SP did it all the time and they are one of the greatest bands ever.

It took me a really long time to get into that song, but when I finally started paying attention to the lyrics... it really hit home for me.

This, Muzzle, and Gallapogos were my favorites when I actually started listening to the album. I was around 13 or so, my cousins were getting rid of CDs and I stole it from the box because of my memory of Bullet with butterfly wings and 1979.

ive been going through random pumpkin phases as of late

a few weeks ago it was the soft machina stuff like home and stuff, then it was siamese dream demos, like strtj and she says...and now its at MCIS. ive listened to thru the eyes of ruby like 20 times since monday..

but Siamese dream is far superior to MCIS. and MCIS is an amazing album, so that just shows how ridiculous and impossibly amazing sd is.

I disagree strongly. I think I'm just annoyed that you stated it as a fact.

i really want to say mellon collie is superior, but i have to agree that siamese is, mellon collie seems that way cuase its longer and song structure is not "rockin" :idk: but i still think the idea are still put out a little better in siamese dream just by a fucken hair................and i mean a fucken hair hell forget my first sentence how the fuck can you tell the two apart besides the the fact one is a rockin album and one is experimental??(??) mCIS has a major advantage seeing how many songs there are....... i use to not like how siamese dream ended too with sweet sweet and luna but now i love it..............when i was 13 i just liked jellybelly and the singles i didnt like gallapogos till i was like 16 maybe im a late bloomer???? these days im all about ,porcelina, and james solo is fun to play too.........just for fun....

i still love jelly belly to this day great rocker!
i love my smashing pumpkins dvds i dont watch them very often but when i do its mostly gish stuff which is not much that i have, i have mostly mcis and sd shit..........but i have all era shit. been collecting for o sey 5 years now???? have over 75 to hundred, posibly 175max or ++++ ???? (of sp) i converted a sealed vhs of no alternative the other day had bands i like goo goo dolls sp someone else but i can t remember..... :picard:
