Needz Tube Bass Amp Combo help!

Post by Tigerbass »

Hi Everybody!
Ok I am getting a Guitar Center credit and I am after a bass tube combo. I have a full GK Stack and I want something that has that tube-y tone. Most shows around here are smaller and my GK is way too much and I would like a combo with some character.
I am trying to spend as little out of pocket as possible. Spending $2600 to get my water pipes under the house fixed tomorrow.

Think this would be a bad idea? Anything else?

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks, Peace and Cheers!

Ok. I misunderstood it when I saw "tube preamp".
That would still be cool to me. Just want something I can turn up past 1 and sound good. We play roots rock so that seems like it would have the kinda sound I'm after.

I don't know what it would sell for in your area but ashdown makes a liltle bastard combo for $899 Cdn. I haven't played the combo but the head itself is gloriious through a 410 or 115.

What about that Ampeg mini stack/Micro thingy? It's gotten a bunch of good words thrown at it, and it's a 2x10.

But, you know, TB is a great place to ask this question.
good deals are here.

Grab a Tech21 Sansamp VT Bass and anything you run it into will sound kinda tubey. Or the VT Pro and you have a DI as well.
Or a Sansamp BDDI
Good deals done with all these guys
