I joined because Devi recommended i ask the "nice people" here at ILF all the questions i had for her... I imagine that the 9 consecutive emails in like five minutes was probably to much

But man, i wasn't much of a forum person, but lo and behold! everyone here is a guitar/anime/nerd in general, and we're all proud to be what we are (from what i know). I immediately felt at home when i see people saying pr0n and nerdy forum talk.... people get my FF references and htsamurai can write a song about Rei from eva... this is home. this is where all of us with similar interests from across the world were meant to meet on the internet.

It's a big family.

I love it

The overall oddness in a good way, and the love of fuzz around here is what keeps me coming back. This is the only forum that I've found that doesn't rub me the wrong way about something. Group dynamic? mad as hatters, the only normal people on earth, take your pick.

Hey I'm a tone elitist, I just have a broader definition of tone than others.

Smile man “we don't want no treble”.

What I like about here and us is the fact we don't fall into flame wars after every post like some forums do.

And when someone posts that they play blues and jazz and want to know if the should get a DN for smooth warm over drive, they will get a nice response about the DN is probably not being the pedal for them and a few suggestions instead of “are you out of your freaking mind”. Ok we do think that, just don't post it.

Well normal is kind of an ego centric view of the world, so I know I'm normal I'm just not that sure about the rest of you. Of course agreeing with me helps your case.

We do have that “home for the holidays” dysfunctional family thing going for us too.

Any way we all love fuzz and we all love music.

I don't think of it as a dynamic, so much as a condenser.

I think on the whole, we all like flipping switches and fondling knobs.

this is the first forum I ever joined and I (like wizard said) just love nerding out about guitars and equipment and other nerdy things outside the realm of music. The vast majority of my friends and all of my family couldn't give two shits about whatever piece of gear I got and I love being able to have some place to talk about that stuff.

Of all things though, I was really taken with the B/S/T part of the forum. It really proved to me a certain trust imbued in the community that we could trade our beloved things to someone we've never met and not have to worry. With all the idiots and shitheads out there it's nice to know there's a trustful welcoming community here and I'm happy to be a part of it

p.s. wizard, veterans day poppy, and any other of you college folk, If you ever get tired of your colleges or want to play a college house party, come on up to saratoga springs and kick it at skidmore. :thumb:

and in a nutshell, Devi's $560 glass dildo/slide probably sums it up.

I love it.
