Just ask because I'm working on it - traded those 5 guitars for the '65 Jazzy, sold two more, sold my DRRI, trying to sell a couple of other amps, and I think I'm FINALLY unloading my Electric 8x10" cab. I think I'm going to try to unload a couple of other cabs locally, too. I'm hoping my buddy comes through buying my Bonham-sized Zep kit.
It's just refreshing to get some of this stuff outta the house.
Of course I have 2 more amps on the way - - but so it goes.
I am, or at least trying to. More of a 'sell small shit to buy big shit' type thing, but I guess you could call it spring cleaning. I'd rather have a few things I use every day than a lot of things I use once in a while!
I'm having difficulties doing that since I always try to keep my gear to a minimum (I'm still living in a small 2 1/2 appartment). I only have one guitar (two with the classical) and one amp and a lot of pedals... might get rid of one or two to make place for some new one.

Exactly. I don't need 10 amps and 10 guitars. Selling a DRRI to be a tape echo (especially when I have a killer Princeton) or trading 5 medium-radd guit for 1 EXTRA radd guit is just a no-brainer.

this is a lot harder and often leads to regret. tread cautiously, my friend.
dudes, I don't own ONE fuzz pedal any more. It's wild.
I'm down to less than 10 pedals (not including tuners), and several of those are for sale. I have a couple of others that I would sell but just aren't worth the bother. I might end up only holding on to some 300ms analog delay for slapback, the Klon, and my Wilson wah - and I'm not even using the wah, it's just..you never know.
I only have 3 guitars right now, but I'm trying to trade an amp for a Tele. Every dude needs a Tele.
I still have 7 amps, though, and that's sort of ridiculous. One's not going anywhere because it's my bass/keyboard amp, my Vibro Prince is going nowhere (and neither is the second being built) - other than that, it's fair game right now. I have that Vintage Sound Super Reverb coming, and after it and the other Vibro Prince arrive, I'll assess my blackface game. I'm thinking I might even sell my Vibrolux! It just fills a niche I shouldn't really need after those other two are here, and I like the sound of the Vibro Prince better. Crazy. I never thought I'd like ANYTHING more than that damn Vibrolux. Retro King and V4 are gonna go, though, sooner or later.
I'm purging amps too. About to graduate and move back home for a bit, and I can't fit two halfstacks, a practice amp, a tube combo, 2 basses, 3 guitars, and an acoustic, let alone all my pedals into a 10x15 room. Trying to get rid of a shit ton of pedals that just sit, both to pay for the new jaguar I bought, and also just to get them off the shelf and on to someone's board. I figured out about a month ago I need nothing more than a clean boost, Tall Font Muff, and Timeline and all my other pedals can just GO. It's a really refreshing feeling!

i'd like to, but a lot of my stuff is of limited or de minimis value. there's no demand for used Epiphone Les Paul Customs or parts Fenders (even with 100% Fender parts) at a price that'll get me anything in return, most of the pedals i can easily stand to get rid of are already gone, and pretty much the only guitars people would want are the ones i can't stand to let go of. i can't see selling four guitars and a script Phase 100 and winding up with enough money to buy a Johnny Marr Jaguar or a Gretsch White Falcon (or not enough to pay my bills in arrears for that matter) so i'm kind of stuck with the cheap end of the stable unless somebody loves one of them as much as i do. and who's gonna love a parts Tele or Strat enough that they'd pay the $750+ i have in it, even if it has CS PUs? and i can't imagine selling the Tokais or the Eastman 000 to buy anything else unless i liked it better than my dick or my eyes.
but when i think about a nice, simple electric setup i can picture working with a lot less than i have now. the two Tokais, my favorite Strat, my old 335 when it's repaired, and a Gretsch or two. Polytune->Distortion+->Algal Bloom->volume pedal->TC SCF->tremolo->Flashback->Ghost Echo. maybe a wah if i ever find one i like. it's the acoustics that i've become really attached to...they really develop idiosyncratic individual personalities over time more than electrics that become either aggravating or endearing.

Thinking of doing this seeing as ill be moving into a 2 bedroom apt with 3 other guys this summer. Thinking of selling my 1x12 and ditching my rack setup, getting a small tube combo and a replacing the rack with pedals.
